Notice anything about those "other people" in particular?

It was during the time he wrote Car Wash, which was awesome.

Oh, is that what it is? Hilarious! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Taryn Manning goes so deep into her roles regardless of project that it is ridiculous that she has not received any award attention yet. If any castmember is due for a breakthrough it's her.

If any new character sticks around, I would hope that it's him; just to see how he interacts with any returning characters (i.e. any of the old guards).

The writers are pretty much finding new and creative ways to treat the Latinas like dogshit while Piper and Alex are able to giggle and plot schemes to get Shake Shack.

Looking at it from the Latina's point of view, especially the ones getting cavity searches and harassed by the guards, I would say that the swastika was perfect. And as a viewer, that was the most satisfying scene in a very, very, long time (especially juxtaposed with everybody dancing one room over).

YESSSS! Where the hell was she during that dance scene!?! C'mon!

And just like that Piper gets to mope around with the sad piano music while Ruiz turns into Tony Montana overnight. So much for the writers "know Piper is a villian".

Pretty gross as well, after seeing how upset Sophia's wife was. Did he HAVE to turn the sprinklers on her? It's a good thing they accompanied the scene with wacky music, so that we know we're supposed to find that funny.

Wish she didnt lay down the accent so thick though, she sounds like Foghorn Leghorn for chrissakes.

Nice contrast to Piper literally telling her that she is "kind of a big deal around here" when they met.

In real life sure, but these writers are assuming that we're all rooting for Piper to come out smiling, which means Ruiz will probably die horribly in a trash compactor.

People sympathize with Ruiz more because Piper used white privilige to get her busted, and all of the Latino inmates harassed in general. And there's also the matter of empowering the brownshirts…

Youre not misremembering, Vee asked Morello for one in S2, who told her to get it from "one of the black girls".

A-??? Best episode of the last two seasons. Every scene that Nicky was in just reminded of how much better the writing (and acting) on the show USED to be, and it's about time Piper faced a consequence for some of the stupid shit she's pulled. Loved it.

She absolutely knew that she was being racist in the scene with Piscatelli, to stoke him into action. What doesn't make any sense is why a "hard ass" like him would be so easily played.

Speaking of OitNB, Natasha Lyonne has had a pretty balanced career after American Pie, keeping up her indie cred and doing a few paycheck movies and tv bits in between.

4ction Movie: The Action Rises

Because she didn't look good (she was playing a meth addict).
