Not the same thing at all. Apple removes apps for having adult content, having "controversial" content (political or otherwise) or being cash-grab ripoffs. Valve's removal of WarZ falls under the third category.

There's a lot of valid criticisms against WarZ, but this one? Big deal. Artists use references. At least they actually painted them, and didn't copy and paint over them.

I'm definitely getting Skyrim withdrawal - I've spent 485 hours in there - but I think I will wait for the complete edition before I dive back in. Will be nice to have plenty of new stuff.

They're not getting anything "wrong", it's just not the kind of game you want to play right now. Subjectivity much?

I'm not keeping my hopes up for standalone DayZ when it comes to smoother combat etc. They'll probably - hopefully - revamp things like inventory management, but I'm not expecting the movement & combat system to be redone, sadly.

It is very hard to get into. You have to know your way around the base game, ARMA2, which in itself is an amazing but clunky simulation. This clunkiness (inventory system, movement, various bugs) translates into the DayZ mod which itself is in buggy alpha stage.
