I'm not keeping my hopes up for standalone DayZ when it comes to smoother combat etc. They'll probably - hopefully - revamp things like inventory management, but I'm not expecting the movement & combat system to be redone, sadly.

It is very hard to get into. You have to know your way around the base game, ARMA2, which in itself is an amazing but clunky simulation. This clunkiness (inventory system, movement, various bugs) translates into the DayZ mod which itself is in buggy alpha stage.

This really is a nice game though. I took the plunge after a previous article mentioned it and... told my friend to get it. He's liking it quite a bit.

In Steam, click on View > Small mode. It's not exactly a different version, but it's a simplified launcher.

Myeah... I bought the three first games in a bundle for 6.24 USD, I'm happy with that.

HDMI cable to connect PC to TV, and a game controller to control Steam and your games.

So true about the font size. Thankfully Steam supports skins, and some of those skins come with larger fonts.
