The best example I can think of regarding the fundamentally broken nature of capitalism is the humble lightbulb. If we could make a lightbulb that lasted a 1000x times longer, under capitalism, there’s no value in it. You can’t ‘run’ a business selling a product that you can only sell to a customer once. You’ll run

Every big new game needs a “Settings you should change right away in [NEW GAME X]” post. Stay tuned for the “25 Things I Wish I Knew Before Playing [NEW GAME X]” and “How to Farm [X] In [NEW GAME X]” posts.

So weird to me how this is “you should change this” as if everyone would prefer what the author does

Yeah thats definitly not it. Maybe 1% of the playerbase actually mods games. The majority are on console where mods just dont exist...except for starfield which is getting mod support in 2024...

Apples and oranges.

“Please. You don’t just “slip up” and throw that word around unless you use it casually in your everyday life.”

The raw speed is obviously very impressive, but the slickness of that transition is the real wow factor here, IMO. Open map, select fast travel, fade out/in in the exact same timeframe would be significantly less impressive than this map level geometry blending wizardry.

Well Shell IS sus! So they’re actually telling the truth for once in their miserable existence! :D

South Park has literally been doing current social and political commentary for 26 years. When was this transition you’re talking about? Season 1?

I know AI is “the devil” around here but company using software like it to help them craft a letter in a language that is not their native tongue is kinda whats its meant to do and its not a terrible thing

my brother once came across a business card for a therapist who evidently hadnt thought their name through: therapistonthestreet.co.uk

I can’t imagine Pen Island was not deliberate.

Shell manager who came up with that line was probably like:

You seem to be ignoring all the stuff they do outside of AI since 2010.

CD’s vids get a pass because people tend to like their CGI commentary. So it’s the whole parasocial “I feel like I know these guys and they would never do anything terrible because I watched 100s of these guys’ vids” relationship, that will certainly lead to a *pikachu shocked faced* when they end up selling their AI

I still like their “Reacts” videos when they have industry stunt performers, animators, and visual effects people who tell cool stories about their work and experiences. Outside of that everything else just seems like youtube quota filler.

I stopped watching them somewhere around 2021 when their videos where they “fixed” things from movies started looking universally worse in my opinion, and I started getting the impression that they were no longer really thinking critically about what they were doing, and were spending much more time just patting each

To be fair, The Hidden Ones are, for all intents and purposes, just the Assassins with a different name. The Order is markedly and philosophically different from the Templars to the extent that it’s a plot point in Valhalla.

And as Ubisoft has been promising, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is exactly that. Assassin’s Creed Mirage transports you back to a time when stealth mattered, climbing was a puzzle, enemies could be dispatched with a single sneaky blade, and the titular assassins of the series were actually assassins.
