I primarily use Dolby Vision on my TV and to me HDR is a night and day difference to SDR. I think my TV model goes up to 1800 a peak brightness. So for HDR/Dolby Vision gaming I leave it set to around 1000 so I don’t go blind. 

I have a first gen Apple TV 4K as well and I feel the same way. It’s tempting sure but it’s not a central device I use regularly.

You’re not! I wasn’t a fan of the movies but I found the game to be enthralling and loved every second of it. I think that’s been the only GamePass game that I purchased after the fact. I do need to get around to get it for my Quest 2 to experience it that way.

I’m a console guy and I have really bad luck with my PS consoles. So far my PS1-4 don’t work anymore and the only PS consoles I have that work are PSP and Vita. So I’m a little weary with PS5.

That’s something I’ve wondered about in the US. Like why is box art and stuff so bland compared to other countries. Like with Link’s Awakening, I saw a post online that compared the US release to the Chinese release and it was a night and day difference with the boxart. The Chinese art was worlds above what we got.

I hope Nintendo can bring it back one day. If GoldenEye managed to get released there’s hope for Eternal Darkness!

I let it simmer for a while and watched all the trailers again last night. So I’m not totally bummed anymore by it. But yes you’re right, it’s been 10 years since the last game and they’re going all out. I also should know to manage my expectations and should have gone into this expecting teaser trailers. 

I’ve gotten 3 Xbox Series X and 1 PS5. So for me it’s more of a money issue right now. I’ve been waiting until Spider-Man 2 has a release date and hoping they’ll do a special edition console before purchasing one.

That’s probably the way I’ll get it but it’s more of a money issue than finding one. I can’t justify dropping $500 on a new console just yet.

I just hope Konami doesn’t act like SquareEnix and that they actually do release an Xbox version once the 12 months are up. Which I get since The Medium was Xbox exclusive for a year and now Silent Hill is PS5 exclusive for a year.

Looks like it’s just for PS5 with a year exclusive window. I probably won’t get to play it until 2024...

I haven’t tried it yet but BoboVR makes a comfort strap for Quest 2 with the focus being on exercise type games but can be used for anything. One of the main points of it is add-ons and they have a fan attachment for it. So there are 3rd party options for that.

I was surprised about all the different kills there are in AC Valhalla. They ranged greatly from violent to visceral. I had a hard time making it through the blood eagle scene. I actually had to look away from the TV!

It will be! I did hope it would eventually come to Games with Gold since it’s BC for Xbox but they ended that program. I’ve been on the fence of wanting to get it or not since I know that one isn’t fixed. I have it for PS3 but my console died.

I have my ThinkGeek bag of holding that I got a while back and it is bittersweet looking at it. I brought it with me to the opening of their first physical store here and town and got the patch and pin for it. The store has since closed and there is one more in town but it’s just not the same.

That would be nice! I think part of the problem with the HD Collection is that the source code for Silent Hill 2 was lost and they only had an earlier version. So the team had to complete the game again during converting it.

I think mainly because you have the option to download and they are supposed to add purchased games to the cloud. Someone is curious about gaming they may start off with the streaming stick and later get a Series X|S if they want to. For that matter an Xbox One as well. When I first played the series I started with Far Cry 3 and that was a blast. The next one I played was Far Cry 5 and I really enjoyed that one a lot, so I jumped into New Dawn as soon as I could. FC5 is also very timely and feels like a commentary on the US. FC6 hasn’t really interested me so I’m just waiting for it…
