Thanks man. and congrats on getting married. We just celebrated our 5th anniversary, thus the Hawaii trip. I’m in engineering as well and also guilty of multiple vehicles- three cars, three motorcycles.

We don’t sit at home in the evenings counting coins and eating ramen. We live a very comfortable life and travel quite a bit. Headed to Hawaii next week, NY a few weeks after that and then Canada for fishing in October. Don’t worry, our lifestyle is not hurting at all. We just make sure that we plan ahead and have the

I still don’t understand why you find his bankruptcy and advising against it 30 years later as being hypocritical. There’s a page on his site all about bankruptcy and when it’s necessary. Either way, even if you find that point hypocritical, it’s as if you think there’s some secret to wealth that he’s hiding by

For some reason... I can’t remember...

Throw some Subaru Brat seats in it and I’d go buy one today.

Because I like to owe as very little as possible. I also keep enough reserves to pay for the other half of the car if I needed to at any moment. I turn over cars fairly often and haven’t paid more than $20k for a car so far, so they aren’t huge investments at this point.

Do you listen to his show? He mentions going broke and being bankrupt fairly often. I don’t think he tries to hide it. He went bankrupt when he was 26, I don’t think he had many options for his situation given how leveraged he was. He does advise against bankruptcy for the long-term consequences of it.
Regardless, I’m

He’s very up front about having gone bankrupt. You make it sound like he hid a million in assets, declared bankruptcy and then came out the other side with a million. He went broke. A lot of people have.

It’s always important to balance that. You can read here about some of my toys and how I spend my spare time. Old Rovers and motorcycles are my kind of fun.

Not planning on taking it with me. Nothing wrong with working hard, getting ahead and spending a lot of time later on doing what I want to do without worrying about bills.

We enjoy working though. We don’t work just to get ahead, we like what we do and what we do on the side. It’s not just to stay out of debt. We do have social lives and we do travel quite a bit, but we also want to build our side businesses. It works well for us and we enjoy our life. It’s not for everyone, but I’m

My wife and I follow his guidelines for 90% of our finances and it has helped us a lot. We have no college debt, no credit card debt, we’re in our mid-20’s and have considerably more assets than most people our age. That’s not to brag, but we are very tight with what we spend and we save as much as we can. We don’t

They typically give $200 each for guns. If he has dozens of them, very, very few of them will be worth that little. That would be an absolute last resort from a strictly financial perspective.

Ram is the only one who still offers a manual option. Some people just like having a bit more control? It doesn’t make a difference to me, I prefer an auto for daily, but a manual truck is fun at times. My dad’s company has several 2006 Ram pickups, all manuals.

Someone else may chime in to say why they prefer manual

I’m in Boise.

Sounds like you got a reasonable deal for yours. The prices on these went down like every car and then shot up fairly recently due to people wanting to go back to the 5.9. I’m sure location has a lot to do with it as well, but overall, prices on these trucks are far above what someone would typically expect. 32k is

are the trucks you’re finding 2004-2007? The newer 6.7L Cummins are usually cheaper.

Did you look at your local craigslist?

Wrong. Look anywhere for a 5.9 Cummins pickup with this many miles. Sellers market right now.

Hey, as tasteless as they may be, they are comfortable on long drives.
