Eh, some of that looks a little to much like its from a Thomas Kinkade painting.

Its irrelevant if protesters ask nicely before they burn art they don’t like or if they just did it using the power of the state to get it done. Its simply a difference in power and means. These protesters don’t have a state behind them and the full spectrum of tools for coercion that a state has at its disposal.…
It is censorship. It would be a prestigious institution caving in to pressure from outside groups to not show someones artwork, not exhibit her ideas and opinions, because one of art pieces is ‘morally reprehensible’ according to these groups. That is censorship pure and simple. Rather than start a discussion about…
And then what. Without a majority, you can stand up for your values all you want, you’ll not get shit done. On top of that, it is a simple reality that liberals must face, and that is that whatever they think of the Republican party, it has a significant voter base that seems to agree with the ideas of the Republican…
Since when is it impossible to do a take on modern day problems and topics in a show with an entirely fictional setting? Isn’t that what for example the Handmaidens Tale also does? I haven’t heard anyone complain that a show like that removes problems women face from reality because its set in a fictional world. If…
Learn the difference between art style and graphical fidelity. Low res textures or background noise on an old LP are generally not part of the art style, they are simply there because of the technical limitations of the medium. Upgrading texture or sound quality does not affect the art style, that remains the same.…
Well those people are definitely not gonna read an actual newspaper with in depth news coverage if they didn’t have the Skimm. In other words, things like the Skimm don’t distract or subtract from more qualitative journalism since they are focused on a completely different segment of the market.
No they don’t. People read what they want to read. If someone wants serious in depth news, they will read something that provides that. If they don’t care and just want bulletin points in an easy to read article, they will read something like the Skimm. If you remove the Skimm or other publications that don’t cover…
Just tell them no. Its not that hard. Or take them to a different kids movie, one that isn’t shit.
No but it means the movie makes its money back and becomes profitable, thus proving to movie execs that they can get away with unleashing bad shit on society.
Not allowing your game to be sold on your marketplace is suppressing it. Valve is suppressing it because it can no longer be bought on Steam. It doesn’t have to be completely banned everywhere before something turns into suppression.
Defintely Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex. It pretty much has none of the typical anime nonsense. ‘Another’ is also a pretty nice thriller/semi horror series with few of the annoying tropes.
I’m not saying that blocking bullies on social media and telling your parents about it is a fix to bullying in general. I’m saying its a way to prevent social media being turned into a tool for bullies.
Just because people crave something doesn’t mean that its good for them. Thats when adults should step in, either by helping a kid realize that what they crave is hurting them and/or by offering an alternative.
Which has zero relevance on someones ability to go outside.
Yeah but if you’re bullied by classmates, it doesn’t matter if you have social media or not. You are going to be around your bullies for most of every school day. Unless you move to another school or get homeschooled its not a choice.
What, poor children can’t go outside? Because they all live in a dangerous ghetto? Thats a) not true and b) you’re talking like American ghettos are dangerous warzones. They are not.
Kids can still go outside as much as they want. The outside has not disappeared, its still there. If people chose not to go outside, well then the outside is apparently not nearly as compelling and great as people give it credit for.
Yeah but you can control your social media. Block bullies and go to communities that do support you. How and to what extend people engage with social media is their own choice.
Guilt is not the same thing as shame. And no, Christians don’t really have a thing for shame.
