Glad to hear the 12 Monkeys is renewed, mostly because I already thought it was. Love that show, and am always a bit worried that I don’t hear people talking about it much.

I’m German. I just hate to see this shit hit the fan. Again. And it’s not just about you in this. If we could drag the world down with us in the last century, so can you. America First doesn’t mean you’re an island - I see him deregulate Wall street and I know my economy is going to tank just like yours the next time…
I give zero fucks about Transformers: Fun At Medieval Times.
“He’s also helping us figure out who the assholes are—they’re coming out of hiding all over!”
Can I add that sentiment from the other side of the Atlantic? I am utterly ashamed that the British government can’t summon the courage to denounce Trump’s action in the frankest of terms.
Seriously though, First Avenger has been a source of strength:
This is Steve
Actually there are 7 distinct versions of Hill Valley across the 3 films. Three in the first film (1985A, 1955, and 1985B), two new ones in the second, (2015, and 1985C, with 1985B and 1955 repeated), and two in the last film (1885 and 1985D). Among other differences, only 1985A has Twin Pines Mall, and only 1985D has…
Not at all surprised that they are otherwise intelligent people. Many very intelligent people are “on the spectrum”, and I can easily imagine some genetic components being passed down in higher rates than among the general populace.
This republican would beg to differ. On the corruption scale, Hillary was a paragon of virtue compared to what you Trump supporting idiots have given us. You really need to stop getting your news from Fox and Breitbart. They have a real problem with the truth. They see it as something to be used only when it benefits…
I tried. I really, really tried. I gave the show more than my usual 3-episode chance to draw me in. But even after 5, it was every shade of terrible. Bad acting, bad story, characters making stupid decisions, hackneyed plot devices, characters dropping in and out of character from one scene to the next, meandering…
You left out the best part: David Niven’s (the head of Showtime) quote — “David Lynch is one of the great filmmakers of my lifetime,” he said, “and the version of Twin Peaks is the pure heroin version of David Lynch, and I’m very excited to be putting that out.”
Oh god, Sliders. So great at the beginning, then so awful. Also the show that went “hey, you liked these characters? Watch us kill them all off horribly.” Except for Wade Wells who became a permanent prisoner in a Kromagg breeding camp.
First Wave, where a released nutcase murderer is tracking down aliens predicted in a “lost quatrain” from Nostradamus, first season was okay, but then they hired Traci Lords (at right in this picture), make the aliens just a front for a different group of aliens, and the whole thing went completely off the rails.
Pity.
It’s unbelieavable how they could get such an unlikeable and dull actor for the protagonist and make so many half-assed episodes that looked like they were whole good episodes cut in half and aired to the viewers in half and make it work for more than one season. I would have gladly watched a series featuring the…
I hate this show. Thank god it’s ending soon so I don’t have to watch anymore :(
This one. I kept hoping it would get better. I was fully aware it was just a group of impossibly attractive people in these ridiculous situations, but I kept hoping it would develop some depth. Despite the crazy never-resolved cliffhanger no depth was ever seen.
That’s pretty much exactly how I felt about Aftermath, the first three or four episodes. After that, I decided it wasn’t even worth having on while I vacuumed. I may have to give Beyond a shot as my “cleaning the house” show.
Sweet - this makes it so much easier for me to recommend the series to friends. Even though I still think Holden is disastrously miscast, the rest of the series is remarkably well executed.
He might have, but some guy named Sam Becket never did.
A woman briefly lived in the parallel universe where that was the case.
