As the emails come in, it is apparent that common sense is not so common. The whole point of this column is to help folks that maybe don’t know as much as the rest of us.

This. I drove one as a rental and of the economy cars I’ve driven, it wasn’t bad. It was comfortable and simple, which I liked.. It just felt...older than it should have. Like, it was a 2017, but it just felt like a rather nice 2007 car. If we’d had gotten this instead of the Caliber...

I wanted to like this car, then I drove one...there wasnt anything specifically wrong with it, it just wasnt anything about it that stood out. Maybe if they made a real sport version with a big engine and better suspension/handling it could have survived.

Getting repoed sucks. Back in 2009 I could no longer afford the 2002 Corolla I bought first year out of college. But, I accepted it, let it go, paid off the difference after it got auctioned off, and made things right. It took me 3 years to pay off a car I didn't even own anymore.
