One super simple thing my local co-op started doing is asking “would you like a bag?” before putting something in a bag. It gives you a half a second to think if you need a bag or don’t - and usually, it turns out, that you don’t.

There are plenty of alternatives to plastic straws and businesses can always employ discretion with those with special needs.
Also, Crowley is the CHAIR of the Democratic party in Queens. Ocasio-Cortez didn’t just beat A democrat - she beat the head of the local party in his home district.
I’d really like to see these suggestions in bracket form.
You’ve Got Mail is a VERY good rom com.
I love her and I love that she calls Kerry Washington her “famous friend” when DIANA ROSS is her MOM.
Glossier Boy Brow goes on my pubes. Just kidding! It goes on my brows.
I had to look up what Maccas was - it appears that maybe you’re located outside the U.S.? (The only thing that came up in a Google search was Austrailian McDonalds?) I wonder if Austrailia has already limited the use of plastic straws in the way this article is suggesting?
I think if you ate out two meals a day this could be true. I’ve definitely been to some restaurants where they give you a straw in each refill - so, if you have a glass of water and a glass of soda with your meal and get 2-3 refills of each for each meal, you get about 10 straws.
Idk, I see parents running around all the time in public with reusable sippy cups - is that not an alternative?
Well, that’s not what Linda Ellerbee said at all...? She just said it was
“absolutely clear that this young woman was strong in her beliefs” and that “she believed in women and believed in her own power.”
Sorry, when I said it was REALLY BAD I meant the first episode. I don’t have access to the next two episodes, so all I know is that the Will and Grace reboot is REALLY BAD. The point of my original comment is that I’ve seen several write ups (this one, the NYT, etc) that review the first three episodes instead of just…
“Out of the three episodes available for review, the first was the most uncomfortable to watch.”
That storyline would actually be kind of interesting, and as someone else mentioned, is not uncharted territory for a sitcom.
“The third episode brushes briefly with Grace’s mortality—she has a cancer scare that is actually not cancer” um, seems like that might have been a solid episode arc.
I think this MIGHT be happening because the first episode (as noted here) is SO BAD. I was excited to watch it last night and barely made it through without turning it off. I’ve seen a couple of other reviews that also mention several episodes instead of just the first one (and note that the first one is terrible.)
In a post where Bette Midler’s name is misspelled, there’s no chance the poster knows who John Heard is.
YES!!! When I bought it, I was thinking, wow, I’m about to have so much ice cream!! Then I started eating it and after a few bites I was like, “Oh, ok, I suppose I’m saving myself about 260 calories by throwing this shit away.”
But, like, if you DIDN’T know it was a “healthier” option, and you just thought it was ice cream like Haagen Daaz or Ben & Jerry’s, what would you have thought?
Right? Halo Top doesn’t taste as good as Ben & Jerry’s (which is why they have to put the calorie count on the label.) If they didn’t have the calorie count on the label and they weren’t marketing it as “healthy” then everyone would spit it out immediately and say THIS TASTES WEIRD WHY WOULD I DO THIS?
