I've been adoring it since episode one. It's real different from the comics, but it's got style, it's gorgeous, Cassidy and Tulip are both amazing and I dig pretty much everyone else (Cooper's a little weak as Jesse comparatively, but still good). And it's regularly hilarious. In a way that seems less aggressively

Considering that the comic spends approximately zero time in Annville (due to, um, things that happen in the first issue), it seems unlikely that the show will stay there forever. The rest of the season, maybe. (Of course, if it doesn't get renewed, I guess that counts as forever.)

Those are dreams Jesse's having.

They did. But it happened in the background of another scene so it wasn't hard to miss.

I can see how the show would seem unfocused and disjointed if you haven't read the comics but even though the adaptation is -quite- loose, it super doesn't feel that way to me as someone who has read them. I'm loving pretty much everything about this show, from the cinematography to the pacing and the little

Yeah, that opening sequence was awesome.

There have been zero flashbacks so far (aside, arguably, from the old west cold open, but that's not quite the same thing), so it would have been odd for them to suddenly do an uncued flashback at the end of an episode.

"Enervated" means pretty much the opposite of how you're using it here. Maybe you want "invigorated" or "energized"?

It will be interesting to see where the show goes with it. The comic is about a quest to find God, who has abandoned his Creation, and call him to account with the Voice. But aside from a couple of lines about God not talking to Jesse or Eugene anymore, there hasn't been much sign of that so far, and the triggering

It's premium cable, you never know.

I hope whoever's doing the regular direction can keep up with Wingard - it doesn't look like he's around for more than this first episode.

Pretty sure you are correct. Punched her enough to break his skin, bled on her (into her mouth? too early to tell if that's necessary or just blood contact. probably the former because messier, though), didn't register it in the chaos.

Man, I loved this show. I'm sorry to see it go, and I wish they'd had a bit more space and money to tie it up with, but I am totally satisfied with the way it ended.

I'd assume porn as a default. As far as I can tell that's what the primary revenue stream is for pretty much every video rental store I've seen that's still open. I really have no idea why when the internet is so full of the stuff, but there you have it.

Yeah, it's been a long time since I read the comics but that sounds right.

I was a little afraid they'd ditched the Voice, given the degree of changes that appeared to be going on and its complete absence from the trailers I've seen. Preacher without the Voice wouldn't be Preacher, but I've seen dumber choices from adaptations in the past. Good to hear that it's still a big presence.

Seriously. Someone's got an alarmed car on my block that I swear goes off 3+ times a night (always at night) and goes and goes and goes. I'd cheer if it got stolen.

"“I can’t drink all this Scotch myself.” “Yeah, I think we both know that’s not true.”"
Favorite exchange of the episode right there.

I've had mixed feelings about Valiant's output (not unusual for superhero books, mind), but Faith was very quickly my favorite character in Harbinger despite initially looking like she was going to be a cheap and rather tasteless joke at the expense of overweight nerdy girls, and I'm glad she's getting time in the

Neither that trailer nor the one this article is about seems to show the Voice, which was the thing that really hooked me into Preacher in the first place. So that's a little worrying. But I'm cautiously optimistic.
