Even worse, the failure to distinguish "lightening" from "lightning".

I'll pray for you.
get a life
So the app let you just skip the whole sex tape thing?
Sadly, I think that's the idea. The girls don't get an education, or to go participate in extracurricular activities that might point them to something they'd like to do with their lives. All they will ever know is being brought up by their older siblings and raising the younger ones, then having and raising children…
Yup that doesn't sound like a cult at all...
I'm wondering how many of the 19 are gay. You know there's just no way they didn't have at least one gay kid in the bunch.
Did you attend school? My main issue is that the children aren't getting educated and as a result if they were to strike out on their own they don't have the basic faculties to make it out there.
...this is why we need laws about home-schooling curriculum.
Their education is that biology is a lie and geology is a lie and astronomy is a lie and western history is a lie and archeology is a lie and philosophy is a lie and....
They're not self supporting. They claim their home as a church, get freebies from various corporations, a paycheck from TLC, and use those kids as free labor. Especially the girls.
Wait...
Yes, but their wealth has no "self-support" involved. They don't pay for their health insurance (a huge boon with a family that size, literally hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, and a benefit of his single term as an Arkansas state legislator that he makes no attempt to hide is the only reason he ran for…
Depends on how you define self-supporting. They declared their house a church, so they don't pay any taxes on the money they get from exploiting their children.
As the others have said, right now they just live off their fame. I'm certain that when the TV show dies they can get a job on some sort of Christian talk circuit, but like the others have said, their kids are doomed to end up in the papers in 20 years, talking about how their parents screwed them over.
How about the shitty parenting these kids get because they are being raised primarily by their siblings? Economics is not the only issue.
Ok that was my take-away from the website they have. It seems likely that the whole family is held up by the money they are making in being ridiculous. Its also troubling that none of the older women seem to have actual employment, just volunteering and things.
They aren't "self-supporting" in the way that the majority of us would define it.
Self supporting with the money they make from a television show that they have to keep interesting by continuing to have children.
The whole "self-supporting" schtick is their most noxious lie, IMO.
