A fetus is barely a "child". Get over yourself. Do you honestly not see why forcing a woman to be an unwilling incubator for an unwanted child is horrifying and wrong? And why her resulting pain and suffering should outweigh the interests of a fetus who is not yet fully conscious, and not yet capable of suffering to

You're out of your fucking mind to think that the interests of a non-sentient fetus outweigh the interests of a fully grown woman with thoughts and feelings and hopes and dreams for the future. We kill animals all the time, for all sorts of reasons. I don't see why a fetus deserves more moral consideration than them.

Are you for real?

Did you accidentally get linked here from the PUA subreddit or something?

I obviously got it from the 40-hour workweek. And even that, I think, is borderline too much. But if you want to be a worker drone that is your business. Something tells me you're a teacher.

I don't think working for more than 7-8 hours a day is good for anyone. Can't they just make lessons more efficient and make time for homework during the day? Kids need leisure time. Having them take work home, to me, is just a way to teach them to accept the intrusion of work into their personal lives. It's crap. And

They are talking about epigenetics. So the DNA itself isn't really being changed - what is changing is actually how easy or difficult it is for the DNA to be "read". Sometimes epigenetic changes can have multi-generational effects, where the fetus' children might even be affected by the change.

But what evidence do you have that exposure to such things "skews" the "psychological development" of young children? How, and in what way?

This. And I'd rather my child not end up like the members of that religious cult that the Duggars call a family. It seems so repressive.

OK but what is wrong with premarital sex? What's wrong with being promiscuous? The issue with teen pregnancy in my mind is that young people need easy access to contraceptives and abortions if necessary so they aren't saddled with raising a child they weren't ready to have. Not getting pregnant doesn't mean not having

I actually know some of the authors on this study. The thing about this is that it has implications for neuroscience research way beyond stress and pain. Who knows how the sex of the experimenter affects the animal's behaviour in other areas?

Absolutely! The short and long term stress responses have different biological mechanisms/consequences. Chronic stress = very bad for the body.

I see no reason why kids need homework at all. I remember it being pretty worthless.

*Ahem*

That is pretty unfortunate, and I was not aware of that. However I'm not entirely surprised you're talking about the east coast here. I live in Ontario, so thankfully I'll likely never have to deal with those kinds of obstacles if I ever need an abortion.

I don't know who that doctor who laid the verbal smackdown on Dr. Drew is, but he seriously deserves a gold star of some kind.

Don't forget PUA and/or RedPillers.

This is fucked up. I invite the good people of Mississippi to move on up here to Canada and leave these legislators to stew in their own misogyny and ignorance.

Well, you're kind of wrong. If your child has an autism diagnosis, your child's brain does and will forever work differently from the brains of others. By that I mean, autism is not some kind of transient or impermanent disease that can be reversed, cured, or switched off by the administration of some miracle drug or

Maybe "probable rapist" is more appropriate.
