It's not the nature of theater going that is changing but the people who are going who are changing. They now have technology in their pockets they previously didn't have, which is evolving at a rapid pace. Sadly, theater etiquette has taken a backseat to self indulgence and selfishness that comes with such technology.

Now playing

This. The problem is people are inconsiderate at the theater nowadays.

How is it evolving? The theater is not a place where one should be taking calls or sending text messages or even pulling out your phone for any reason. At least not without stepping outside of the actual theater that is. Why? Because it isn't proper theater etiquette and it's purely selfish people who use their phones

Hmm. It appears my comment got sucked into a Kinja void.

Stock Jelly Bean looks like. Notifications are able to be viewed by pulling down the status bar.

Ah. Even better. We don't have an Exchange environment, so on that front any lost devices equal trouble for me. Luckily, I refer to my boss as "the destructor". Any "lost" device he likely broke beyond comprehension. As in "I have no idea how you broke this". (I handed him a Nexus 7 in the toughest Otter Box case they

Actually, false. The best thing you can do consist of only one thing: Be careful what you install and from where you install it.

I do IT for my company and have a boss who goes through a smartphone/tablet a week, if not every few days. I feel your pain from a security standpoint.

Not really. It just states that as the most popular OS of choice it would be the most targeted for nefarious people to code for, much like Windows.

But just a nice starting point for all the naysayers in the class...

I'm not going to bother. It's a fact. Either look it up or don't, I don't give a shit at the end of the day. Any idiot who really thinks "speed limits are set low to save lives" is an idiot.

Actually, that's false. Engineering reports, studies conducted, etc PROVE that lower speed limits actually cause more accidents and fatalities.

Or you could stop with the assumptions that people only use bittorrent to get free media.

Yeah, I kind of want to say it's like that. Posted minimum. But I can see the logic behind it, if everyone is speeding BUT YOU then you're actually posing somewhat of a risk and are impeding the flow of traffic. I'm not saying they should cite someone for that, but I can see why they would.

I forget where in the state, but in Texas in one of the bigger cities despite whatever the posted speed limit on the various roadways there is, cops will issue citations if you aren't keeping up with traffic. So if the majority are doing 70 MPH and you aren't they can and will ticket you.

Seriously? Insane. I've lived here my whole life (just turned 28 this past Saturday) and that's the first I'm hearing about that.

The consequences also show that more lives are spared deaths if speed limits were to be set at higher speeds like 85 MPH, which is the highest speed the majority of people are actually comfortable driving.

This is by far the most level headed reasonable response I've ever seen on the internet used against a person with a differing opinion.

Dumb or a brilliant scheme orchestrated by the tiny supernatural creatures that invade our homes and actually do steal our socks to get us to think nothing is amiss?
