I hate to be that guy, but am I the only one who’s already thought of this? As automatics have become more common and actually shift faster than manuals, it was only a matter of time before manuals are phased out altogether. Some people still want the experience of rowing gears.
I think Volkswagen thought of this in about 1968.

Eh, when it comes to museums I’m more okay with the cars sitting around. Some cars should be preserved for history. What I’m not okay with are collectors who hoard cars, never drive them, and never let anybody see them. Now that’s truly a waste.

Probably the right choice. Beretta GT’s had a really torquey V-6 and were a much more modern, better-handling platform than the K-Car Daytona or Fox-body Mustang. And Mustangs with the 2.3L 4 were slooooooooow.
