Every single time US has had to engage in strategic alliances, it has always made financial and technological that benefit the other side - South Korea is a prime example of that (Japan is one as well). It was a forgotten and backwards rice-farming nation before 1960`s.

Poland is the only true strategic partner that US has in the continental part of Europe.

The pipeline theory is a myth - the gas that would be going to Europe from Qatar would become highly uncompetitive. It looses it`s economic edge once the pipe reaches 250km mark. LNG imports would be/are much cheaper.

Slash F-35A orders, keep on perfecting B and C variant and order a hardcap amount of F-22 airframes using the money you`d save by cutting down A variant orders.
