First of all, thanks for taking the time to actually make a rational argument. My initial post was that anyone that assists the police in this case is a "rat." In the circles I move in, that is what we call do-gooders, informants, tipsters, etc.

I do not cooperate with the police, not online, not on tip hotlines, it's something I simply do not do. I am not a troll (at least I don't think I am), I simply have no tolerance for telling on people... I guess I'm a product of another time.
I don't bicker with dingbat females, thanks though.
I'm a "thundercunt" because I disagree with assisting the authorities? You're a cunt because you're (probably) a victim, and you need the authorities.
Yeah dude, I don't agree with assisting the police - Jalopnik should totally ban me.
Hey, he opened the door, I just walked through it.
Riiiiiiight, I'm pissed off that Jalopnik (my favorite auto enthusiast site) has allowed itself to be co-opted by law enforcement authorities, so it's time to bring out the mom comments to bring me down a peg or two. Would you like to talk about parenting failures? How about the fact that your parents didn't teach you…
Ok, perhaps "rat" is too strong of a word, I think "cockroaches" might be more appropriate.
I am not interested in the mental gymnastics you need to engage in to justify helping the police in a matter that is absolutely none of your business. Stop mind fucking yourself for a moment and repeat after me, "It's none of my business, I will not assist the authorities."
You people are all rats, seriously. Fuck the police, if they're so fucking smart let them do their own work.
My excuse is that I did it in 2000 and was still partying like it was 1999 (I was not drunk when I totaled the car out).
They do have a tendency for snap oversteer with traction control off and an idiot behind the wheel (been there, done that).
Hello Matt,
+1
Yeah, it was a 2wd 4 cylinder that I drove in Costa Rica... Useless.
+1. When I think of horrible cars, I think of the Nissan Xterra (company car) I was cursed with for a year... Total POS. That vehicle was just plain terrible in every way imaginable. Terrible build quality, terrible chassis, underpowered, flimsy, and cheap. The Xterra couldn't get out of it's own way rolling downhill…
My my my, we've struck a nerve, looks like Bocephusgotowned.
I guess I understand where you're coming from. That said, I've ridden for ~20 years and I was to blame every time I went down. Sure, lots can go wrong on a bike, but lots can go wrong everywhere; why let fear get in the way of something that can give so much satisfaction?
I'm confused, the dude said "Learn to ride, take a riders course." How is that bad advice?
I'm with you. There is a very tired -and not entirely rational- Tesla hate narrative here at Jalopnik.
