It gets better in later epsiodes when the show tends to focus on individual perspectives. But yeah, the first time through its hard to keep track of who is who in the first few episodes.

Avery's psychotic arc was so bad, I've completely blocked it out of my mind. If I remember well, these episodes have a lot of back and forth on the Felicity/Ben front, which is when I started really getting tired of Felicity's romantic troubles.

I hadn't heard or seen anything about Tyrant until last night's promo but I liked it so much that I'm looking forward to seeing it. It's the only one of FX's new shows that's not based on a pre-existing property (yay original content) and it's supposedly shooting in Tel Aviv which will give the series a distinct look.

He was perfectly cast in Office Space, his limited range helps sell the dead-inside nature of Peter, which works to his advantage. And I don't dislike his character here, but I do think that Nixon could have been much more interesting in the hands of another actor. Case in point, the scenes in a later episode where

You like Ron Livingston? I always found him a lackluster actor (he has one facial expression that he contorts into slightly different ones to emote). I like the character he plays here, but that's entirely due to his story and relationship with Winters. It's all in the writing and not on the performance.

I know this is heresy around these parts, but I haven't really been an avid fan of Community since the end of S3. The return of Dan Harmon this season didn't help any. Watching it feels too much like a shore for me to enjoy it.

NBC better not screw the pooch on that one. It's the last thing worth a damn on that network and they could really use some critical acclaim. It might not be a great business decision (although they don't pay for much of it), but it would be great for their reputation. At least in my eyes.

I'm surprised this happened (the ratings are truly poor), but really happy. This season has been outstanding and Elizabeth has now become (in my mind) Keri Russell's signature role. Goodbye Felicity.

Yeah and he recovered but with slurred speech and partial paralysis that requires the full-time use of a wheelchair. In other words, if we see Chilton again he won't be able to occupy the same role he played in the books from now on.

And Good Luck with your applications!

That sounds really cool. I watched Utopia on your recommendation and loved it, can't wait for the new series to start.

Hannibal: "There's no hope for us Will. Not after this."

Congrats on the freelancing gig!!! Your comments in the S1 Girls board are the reason I finally made the jump from A.V. Club reader to commenter, so thanks for that. I'm looking forward to reading whatever they assign to you.

Thanks! Congrats on your BA. Your field of studies sounds super interesting. Did you have to write a thesis for degree completion? I would love to hear what your topic was.

I just finished my master's in Structural Engineering.

I would have been traumatized for life. As a child I once ate Bake and Shark under false pretenses and after I found out what it was, I didn't speak to my parents for a few days.

Brushing shoulders with millionaires is always fun. I also have very little experience with South American food. My family's Cuban so our cuisine is more along the lines of Caribbean food.

Except there was no Chilton DNA. There was a partial fingerprint of Hannibal. Jack interpreted that to mean that the real Chesapeake Reaper was trying to point them to Hannibal as a scapegoat. That combined with the fact that there was sodium amytal in Miriam's blood was what led them to Chilton. The evidence was

Alana's arc this season is certainly problematic, mainly because the writers have never figured out how to incorporate her into the main narrative. The fact that they decided to bring her into the main story through a romance with Hannibal is frustrating and unless it has a great payoff I will be really upset. And

I'm really, really sorry. If it helps, the answer's not conclusive. He never explicitly says that himself, I just chose to interpret what he said that way.
