I’m not going to argue research because I agree it’s a huge issue (and not just with Jez); my issue was with moderates telling progressives to trust McConnell. I would be more likely to trust Liz Cheney, blech, over Mitch, but she isn't the one shaking Biden's hand on this. 

Hillary won the popular vote, and lost the Electoral College which is based on a two part selection process (https://www.archives.gov/electoral-college/electors).
