This is the problem. Every rape handled by a university is basically Shroedinger’s rape. And university tribunals simply don’t have the credibility that the justice system has (though, the justice system is also sorely lacking on the issue of rape prosecutions) so at the end of the day there is never a clear verdict.

Actually, given that Kara’s a dipshit, in this case she would probably call it “mansplaining.”

And yet morons will keep saying victims of sexual assault on college campuses shouldn’t be required to go to the police.

Maybe the angry mob trying to influence the judge should try threatening him instead?

Inmediate belief is one thing, and one I fully support. Implementing actions based on an accusation alone, before an investigation has taken place, is what I take issue with. They’re two different things. You can believe an accuser, and wait for the investigation to end before acting on it.

Hey wow thanks for the sweeping generalization, that’s helpful

Yeah, I don’t know how anyone can openly advocate that policemen should just accept being shot simply because the suspect is black. It’s disgusting.

There is a big difference between owning a gun and brandishing a gun. And yet another big step to firing a gun at others.

The primary difference here is, that those boys you’re talking about did not shoot at police officers. Don’t you see a difference between owning a gun and using it against law enforcement at a traffic check/investigation?

I’m confused what you believe the proper response by these officers should have been.... they were shot at by someone.

Any of your white buddies ever throw a shot at a cop? Didn’t think so. I guess that might be the primary difference, not the white part.

14 year old with a gun usually isn’t out selling cookies.

You start off essentially saying you believe her accusatoins, then write two paragraphs which only serve to highlight how untrustworthy every media source seems to be on this story.

I guess you missed the quote where he said he feels terrible. It’s literally in the article you commented on

Are we now assuming that school investigations into sexual assault are both automatically impartial and infallible? I note that when white female students complain that their alleged attackers were not punished by their school, such as in the UVA case, numerous Jezebel posters are quick to argue the investigation was

Come on bro. It’s 2016. Some people consider telling someone your name is Hugh Mongous is sexual harassment. You can rape with your eyes these days.

Because he believes the process itself denies him his rights.

The Title IX process is shitty, don’t believe otherwise. Katie JM Baker (Jezebel alum!) wrote about this two years ago for Buzzfeed and I am struggling to dig up the article, but not all Universities apply Title X complaints in fair or transparent ways, to the victim or the accuser. Most are just treating the process

if you are not poor you are moming wrong.
