Sorry about the typo, I misread MBP instead of Air. But a grand (MBA entry price) is still too much, IMHO.

Exactly. I do IT support for a lot of small companies and most of them would love to use tablets in some form but there either isn't an iOS app for their programs or getting the app requires an upgrade that costs a fortune. (Among the many, many other problems with deploying the iPad in a business environment.)

The 50-series is turning into an epic line of TV's. I got a 50" ST50 a couple of months ago and I'm still amazed by the picture quality.

Someone needs to retake physics.

In a lot of circumstances, you're dead wrong.

No. Nissan (among others) had had brake override for a few years but Toyota only began adding it after the UA incidents.

Did anyone else have an olfactory flashback the instant these pictures loaded? I can't remember if it was the developer or the fix solution that had that smell, but it's been thirty years since I was in a darkroom and I haven't forgotten that unmistakable scent.

Not really. Jimmy Spencer knocked him on his ass in 2003 at Michigan, IIRC.

He makes it so easy to enjoy watching him flush his career down the toilet.

Can't believe no one has mentioned this one yet: Elliott Sadler's 2006 header into Armco backed by an earthen berm at Pocono. I'm still amazed he walked away from that. NASCAR no longer releases the specific black box data from crashes, but they did say this was the biggest hit in their history, which means it topped

My hero car/midlife obsession is the E24/first generation 6-series. I've wanted a M6 forever, but in the last few months the dream has evolved to dropping a LS2 or LS3 into a regular 635CSi (doing it to a M would be so wrong) and making a light resto-mod of it. The thought of that gorgeous GT with a modern power train

That isn't clear yet. We know that Mango apps will run on WP8. There is also a report out this week that MS will offer a version of WP8 for Mango handsets, but "some Windows Phone 8 Apollo features will remain exclusive to third generation Windows Phone devices running dual-core mobile processors. The same set of

Another great free WP7 phone for AT&T is the HTC Titan. It's a one-cent phone on Amazon for new customers. It's one of the best free smartphones out there. I love mine.

I can't agree with your reasoning. WP8 will have some bugs that will take a few months to work out (all software does) and it will take time on top of that to get apps that can leverage the new hardware and OS. The bleeding edge is a lonely place.

I don't think you appreciate the scale of what you're saying. This isn't like island hopping. Once we get past Mars the next stop where we can set down is twenty light years away. When we get out of our solar system it's empty space for more than four light years. So how do you do that "a little at a time"?

Go back and read where we're at now. Finding a "boat" that can transport humans at close to light speed today would be like looking at DaVinci's drawings five hundred years ago and deciding to build the F-22.

"(Can anyone come up with a serious rebuttal to this? I'd love to hear it.)"

I have a tremendous amount of respect for Dr. Tyson, but his reasoning in these clips wouldn't pass a high school course in critical thinking.

Mommy blogging? Seriously???
