For the same money I'd take a used Atom every day of the week.

I'm a big fan of the R230 generation Mercedes SL. Love the styling and it's a great long-distance GT. Might try to snag a clean, low-mileage car out of Boca in a couple of years when the price falls into the mid 20's.

Crack pipe. Overpriced, as dozens of others have noted. But the Vauxhall engine in the US is crack, too. Aside from posing, what does that add to the car other than make it a nightmare to find parts for?

We're having a garage sale this weekend. If I put out some collateralized debt obligations and credit default swaps with the old Corningware, I should be able to get one of these, right?

@JayP71's new car is worth 5 jalop points: I agree, but I think it's hard to laugh if you've painted yourself into an ideological corner where any hybrid is a mortal threat to everything you believe.

@zenneth: Barely released? The Fusion Hybrid is going into its third year of production.

I've read all of the responses, and I think the X11 is the perfect choice. The X-cars were both very popular and incredibly bad, so most people are going to react to mentioning any Citation like they stepped in shit. But the X11 was a blast to drive and any real enthusiast over the age of 30 should know it.

The first-gen Viper GTS is the only Chrysler in my fantasy garage. Nice price.

Now playing

@AmishJohn: I think you mean Hemingway. Last I heard, Ernest Borgnine is still alive and...um...

@hawkeye18: No one saw it as improbable, except for all the people who did. (See the reasons laid out by Matt in the story.)

@huh989: I set up a new Vostro 17" for a client last week and was very unimpressed. The plastic case around the palm rest was really flimsy. My take is that they're ok for the price, but if you can find a deal on an Asus or Sony - get that instead.

@pinkshinyalan: The other drivers were other reporters, and they're not going to give away their story to another publication.

Any truth to the rumor that Apple will brick your iPad if you're caught using an unauthorized cat/stand?

@bygeorge: Because "almost every single market in the world" has been shrunk to Mexico/South America, South Africa and SE Asia. There is no small compact pickup in Europe, Australia/New Zealand, or the other first-world markets. The most popular trucks there are the Nissan Frontier and the Toyota HiLux - which is now

@Mr.choppers - Delenda Carthago Est: I wouldn't make the conclusion that these trucks can pass current US or European safety standards. They are derived from global compact platforms, but these models are unique to Mexico and South America, where the safety requirements and testing is a lot lower, when it exists at

@flightsuit: Focus groups have killed the modern equivalent of the Dodge Rampage? I thought it might be because it (along with every other car-based pickup offered in the US market) sold for shit.

No, I wouldn't consider buying a Mahindra. (But can you consider buying vaporware?) And I'd pass on a compact car-based pickup like these Mexican models, too.

@kenevandelnorte: That's gotta make you feel like shit every time you think about what you paid for the R8, huh?
