" Not only did Amazon have the foresight to have black people in key creative roles for a story about the lingering effects of slavery in America…"

Yeah. I was going for deadpan sarcasm by using a period rather than an explanation mark on "Wow". I guess it didn't work.

Wow. Who knew that Shatner was an asshole.

Great! We'll set up a meeting. We have some notes on how it can be retooled for the remake and avoid it being a box office flop like the original. In fact, let me share one now: CGI Baby voiced by Seth Rogan!

I suppose you are right. I guess I think of IT as being as much a long fantasy novel set in the real world as it is horror, so for a movie based on a fat fantasy novel, it is kind of short.

FADE IN:

If comedies were only 90 minutes, they would have to cut the maudlin scenes where the main character learns a life lesson in how not to be funny anymore. Without those, you would only be left with nonstop funny parts, and conventional screenwriting wisdom says that is bad.

Being stunned about movies being average length is Newswire's new thing.

That's one of the least adaptable of King's stories. It's very short and any attempt to add to make it a full movie is going to add a bunch of conventional movie nonsense.

It really couldn't be more fair!

Nonsense. I do what all sensible foreigners do when they want to influence your politics. I hire a lobbyist and donate money to PACs. The beauty of a political system that runs on money is that anyone can buy in.

This is a story where someone tweeting about Popper's masturbation habits is the point before it gets sad. That really says something.

Speak for yourself. We aren't all American voters here.

Regarding your last point, I think if we have the unlikely worst case scenario where the whole rest of the show crashes and burns, this season will still have fans. There is too much about this show that is fantastic regardless of how it all ends.

With the explanation about the joke not translating into French just to top it off.

I'm wondering if this episode will play better later. Lynch sometimes likes to put in scenes before their emotional significance is really apparent. The Audrey scene and the roadhouse scene may play differently once we have some context for them.

I had a ceiling fan in a Chicago apartment about ten years ago, and it vastly reduced when I needed to turn on the actual air conditioner. They are so much more effective than any other kind of fan.

The pies are worth going a little out of your way.

Which made the attempt to dazzle them with titles funny even before the response.
