I could buy that.

I agree. It's not something I am that concerned about. It's mostly just an excuse to talk more about this show.

Thinking further on Lenny. I think she actually was real in the hospital. Hospital Lenny was kind of fried, while Dead Lenny has this malicious focus. They don't seem to be the main character. I am guessing the Yellow Eyed Demon just sees his guilt over her death as leverage.

I also liked how she is only interested in coming out when something interesting is happening. She's content just to disappear into Cary while he takes care of the mundane parts of life.

I got the Matt Berry vibe too. In the opening moments I had a little bit of confusion before settling on it actually being Clement.

I guess I wasn't clear. They eye might have planted the lighthouse in her mind to lead the mutants there. In the process of messing with her mind, he might have planted the Benny misinterpretation.

Yeah. I liked Syd asking the question. It brings home what a mindfuck of an experience she is going through.

I remember that early 80s still had a lot of 70s to them, but the hairstyles are much closer to the early end of the 70s than the end.

There have been a few anachronisms that I am unsure whether to take as errors or simply a case of parallel universe.

This week wasn't as overtly scary as last week, but yeah, this is one creepy show.

The time period thing is bugging me a little. It looks very 60s, but we had Lenny name drop CNN in the first episode. Tonight, we had Oliver, who hasn't had contact with the world since the 60s mention karaoke, an invention of the 70s that took a long time to catch on in the West. Then there are the tablets.

I agree. Part of the appeal of comics when I was young was the enormous range of styles you could get with combinations of titles, writers and artists. Making all your superhero movies feel the same loses that completely. Comic book universes are filled with enormous tonal differences.

There is no way to be sure, but I think we are outside now. For one thing, Sydney's power doesn't work inside David's head.

It really does feel like a show that could go either way, which is exciting.

The first season finale of Black Mirror already sold me on never wanting to revisit memories with perfect clarity.

It does seem more complicated than "Lenny was just in his head all along". I think we still have a few more layers to unwrap here.

No to start too deep a tangent, but I finally got around to starting season 2 of The Expanse this week. That show is really cooking along nicely.

This is definitely something I can watch repeatedly. I will be buying it.

My oddball theory of the week: Maybe Lenny really always was Lenny, and Benny was never real. We have only gotten the Benny story from the ex-girlfriend and the Eye, posing as the Doctor.

Him not having a dog is sad, but also a relief to know that nothing horrible happened to it.
