The question was what would he tell his black son to do in the case he was pulled over. This article pretends it’s his general response to racial injustice in America. I challenge someone here to answer this question in a meaningfully better way, considering that it is you giving advice to your black son.

There is a point where cash over the price of the car would cover the tax liabilities. If Oprah gave each audience member $9500 cash over the car that would 100% cover all taxes in current tax rates.

Because his Dad probably blew the money and then made up some “they fucked me over” story and his dumb ass believed it.

I understand your point on unexpected expenses, especially for those without means.

They could have said no to the car, or asked for a payment plan with the IRS, or sold/traded in the car and paid the taxes with the excess.  Not sure how anyone was disadvantaged here.

Exactly my thought after reading this totally representative headline.

Oh no! They had to pay taxes on a free car!

The wrong people? You mean all the black people that were in the audience that were laughing hard? Them?

Hand held for me - I’ve installed four now. Always go for the ones with the best hardware. Brass couplings and stainless hoses! The first one was plastic. I RAN upstairs when I heard water running. Busted hose.

Stop drinking the Kool-Aid.

That’s the point though, they’re not going to actively discourage them as this would ultimately hurt their bottom line and affect the quality of the service they offer. Which is why it’s complete bullshit that their argument rests on “well I didn’t intend this to happen” while keeping every single proceed and doing

And this people is why we cant have nice things. When it started Uber was a side gig for people that already have jobs to make a few bucks on the side. Then a bunch of people decided to do it full time and bitch about how the system doesn’t work as they assume it should. Uber/Lyft didnt do anything to discourage this

Yes.

[That is too many minutes, no matter how good the minutes are.]

For all the faults, the frustrations, the dead ends, the unexplained, the unanswered, the erratic character shifts, the underwritten stories, the narrative cheats and the simple time wasting...I’m absolutely going to miss Legion.

Mind you, this isn’t to say this particular movie is “good” or “bad”. I haven’t seen it. And I have no problem with actual bad reviews...but this ain’t that. This is the author reaching for outrage, drawing bizarre connections (“is this supposed to be about the Uma Thurman controversy?” Uh...no? I mean....why?) and

I get that it’s fashionable to hate on him in some Brooklyn hipster circles, but I find pretty much all of his movies to be fantastic, and disagree pretty much with this (except the parts about his shitty defense of Polanski and Weinstein, fuck him for that shit). I honestly feel like “bad” reviews like this are more

I don’t know that you can really go after him on black speaking roles. His last two films, The Hateful Eight and Django Unchained, were led by strong black characters, and he does wonderful things with Samuel L Jackson in Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown, and three of the main leads in Death Proof are black women.

I don’t get the non speaking black actors comment......
