IANAL but usually these settlement agreements come some wording that states neither party is at fault or neither party admits culpability.

There’s a video demonstrating this on youtube actually. Two experienced trainers, 1 with a knife and the other attempting to draw/respond to the knife. Knife dude wins almost every time while the gun guy is trying to roll backwards and draw at the same time to make distance.
