@SkipErnst: I wonder if it would be too "dark" for Gizmodo to email him and suggest such a thing. I'm sure the world would loved to have seen the blueprints and specs for the "car that runs on water" guy (mentioned in a comment below), and similar. There's that leaks site, might be another logical destination.

test comment... I posted my other one about 10 mins ago... still don't see it. I'll edit/remove this one once it shows up.

I've never understood why (when people are making potentially game changing inventions) don't they truecrypt up a detailed explanation of the invention, distribute it on thepiratebay (or similar wide distribution network), and have a deadman's switch that would send out the key if they get deaded?

@birdfeed25: Yep, another ADrive user here. 50GB of free.

@EnzoFX: Why only unimportant ones? I mean do what you are comfortable with, but Lastpass can locally generate a stronger password (letters, numbers, special symbols of nearly arbitrary length) than you can by trying to make something memorable. Then it will encrypt it locally on your computer before sending to be

@whaddupyo: Wow, I admire your restraint, sir! A 333, that's.... well, that's loyalty is what it is. And good on you.

I heart LastPass. It's so liberating to be able to use 20 char strings of gibberish, different for every site, and not have to remember anything but my one master password... and knowing that all password transactions are encrypted locally before being sent over the internet.

@DWiner: I think it's so if you find something you want at work (bank statement, mail-in-rebate coupon, directions to party, some email, etc.), you can print it at home and have it sitting there for you when you get home.

@qrius: ...toss LastPass on the pile of password generator/tracker/form-filler awesome add-ons.

@chareverie: If you use a single password across multiple sites, you are opening yourself to dramatically increased risk. An easy to crack password is one thing, but an easy to crack password that's used for 10 sites... if a hacker gains access to any one of those sites, he has you compromised across all of those

Why would anyone use this instead of LastPass or, well, any of the strong encryption free password services out there? I use LastPass, and I'm tremendously happy with it. I know there are other good options out there, too, just don't remember 'em right now. But yeah, I've used LastPass to change all my passwords to

Is Dropbox better than ADrive (which gives you 20GB)? I'm registered with both, but haven't actually used either yet.

@kartal: I love this idea. Now that you've mentioned it, it seems so obvious, yet awesome. I wonder why it isn't already done.

I love Launchy on my XP machine, but I see no use for it on my Vista machine, where the functionality is already built in. I run Aero, so I guess I'm not THAT concerned with squeezing out every scrap of performance, but I see no need to take up any more screen real estate than is necessary. I have widgets for

@Chef: Not sure what you mean by size limitations... I upload 8Mp images to my Picasaweb free account. And yeah, there are fixed URLs. Once I run out of room on the one account, I'll just sign up for a free second account, transfer my pictures there, and keep going. I haven't tried Flikr, but I'm pretty happy with

I've had great luck just using the free stuff section of craigslist. Anything I've posted there has had 10 replies within an hour and people are prompt about coming to pick it up, because they know a hundred other people are right behind them in line. As for freecycle, I've found it a much smaller community with a

Go to the dollar store, get a magnifying glass. Now take your camera, focus on your subject as closely as you can, then hold the magnifying glass in front of your camera lens, moving it until your subject is in focus. It works brilliantly, is super cheap, and portable.

I use the left to right method for making sure I don't wear the same clothes too often, but I use the hangars themselves to keep track of which state of clean the clothes are in. If I haven't worn it since it's been washed, then it goes on a hanger facing one way, and if I've worn it once, it goes on a hanger facing
