Im buying a used 2018 F150 this weekend. Trading in my 2010 Camaro SS that has 155,000 miles. Camaro had a repair bill of $3,500. I pooped my pants. Camaro has been a money pit lately and I do most of the maintenance. It’s sad to part ways.

People buying new trucks and SUVs that sticker for 60K+ don’t really care about an extra hundred bucks a month in fuel cost. The one’s who bitch about it just like to bitch because it’s politically convenient for them.

Also, are “large gas sucking truck” owner swing voters? I feel like they’re probably not switching their votes a lot.

DUH.

Which is why the US no longer has just 8 head lamps that cost $8-15 but instead now has hundreds that cost $100-2000.

There is a minimum brightness?

I would argue that the crossover did more to kill hatchbacks and wagons than anything else. For some reason, the people buying vehicles are shouting back and forth that either Trucks or Crossovers are LIFE! and completely forgot about how awesome hatchbacks and wagons can be, and how much better they look than their

So much this. If NCAP is good enough for the world’s biggest markets, it’s good enough for us.

We all know it. CAFE Standards. Not because the concept is bad (more economical and powerful engines are a pluys), but it has never followed through and has basically killed off station wagons, hatchhacks and sedans.

It is way too easy to get your driver’s license in this country. We need laws that requires more skills behind the wheel and actually keep checking our driving skills well into old age. Just one day of driving around Florida will demonstrate the need for better driver training for new and older drivers.

It’s this - the FMVSS.

Lack of global standards that lead to additional engineering / certification costs to deal with patchwork local legislation.

Yeah, a six pack and 2 mixed drinks...sure buddy! Typically people like that will understate what they actually drank. So I’m guessing a six pack, 6 mixed drinks and a couple of shots.

This is the correct take.

Everyone thinks “Nobody wants to work anymore” , no its nobody wants to work for shit pay when the CEO is making 12 Billion a year.

Go get em boys

I really dislike not being able to pick out my seat in advance.  And Southwest doesn’t have first class.

5G is an encoding standard, not a frequency. In Europe they have a larger guard band and require cellular operators to use far lower power near airports as well as require beam shaping to lower the angle the maximum power is broadcast at. The Europeans use Block A and Block B near airports. This is about the US using

There was an initial study from an Aerospace institute and Texas A&M. In 2020 the FCC auctioned off the 3.7-3.98 GHz band (radio altimeters start 4.2 GHz) and admitted that more research was needed to see if there’d be issue with radio altimeters. RTCA (Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics) released their study
