@Kyle VanHemert: seriously - great questions and answers. I laughed.

Uh oh, China is getting all the good tech!

@Benguin: I am not sure, but from what I gather it can be summed up in a word: fanboys

@vinod1978: nah, I won't argue with you there. Apple has gotten a lot right and their success is something of a testament to that (and their marketing dept). I am not a fanboy and won't deny them credit where it's due.

@vinod1978: Actually, I think you have it a little backwards. Google had an SDK available for Android before it was even launched, before Apple did. The iPhone was a feature phone at launch that evolved to a smartphone. Though, I still consider it something as a fancy featurephone, because via it's locked down

@CIM: That's not entirely fair as it was just a demo and you aren't even showing the full app drawer, but only the launcher menu.

It's important to realize that:

@MacTodd: I would hope that those with the power might realize that despite the leak of this new phone, it was still the best launch for them yet. They might have more to gain than lose by going through a more open test period. I won't hold my breath though.

@Ryan J Whiteman Nester: no, Palm got bought by HP who is dumping a lot of money into it. WebOS has a lot of potential, hopefully Palm can release some hardware that really shows it off.

@coketown: exponential doesn't mean "at least squaring." Exponential growth simply means that growth occurs at some constant proportion relative to the value.

nice!

@inanimate-object: don't worry if you can't upload it to the post here, just send them in the email as the directions state. They will post most of the good submissions.

I need to go read more about the actual tech, but as someone who worked on the original Human Genome Project, this sort of tech is exciting. Capillary electrophoresis has gotten much cheaper and more efficient, but adding wells to plates can only go so far.

These apps are kind of fun. The torch app I use on my Droid also does morse code. Type in what you want it to blink, and it does it. If you are at sea, someone might (but probably won't) actually know what it is saying.

Awesome, thanks for the heads up. Going to try it now!

@PoG: quit being so cynical, it's ...unbecoming?
