What a delightful Texas rose. And so well-spoken. A credit to her race. Et cetera.

That poor child.
Twice the legal limit after 2 shots? That’s some fine bathtub hooch!
I said this elsewhere but the best part of Warren’s delivery was the way she changed her tone to a mocking one and made a subtle mocking face when she said “what we can’t do and shouldn’t fight for.” Just beautiful. It wasn’t so blatant as to be distasteful (people would give her shit for that) but it was just enough…
When my parents would say that shit to me if they saw a bra strap or scoop neck top, I’d always say, “Nuns get raped. Explain that.”
I dunno...I think that the knowledge that humanity will go extinct soon would cause enormous upheaval in society.
I’m curious enough about the worldbuilding to wonder how she’s the ONLY girl left alive. If the plague skipped children, what happened to all the other girl babies and children? Are we supposed to believe they were ALL raped to death?
I already know what it’s like to live in a world where only men are in control and they would rather live in the woods than do basic housekeeping. It’s called the reality of the last several hundred years.
I think it’s funny that the movie assumes that without women, utilities like electricity stop working and the men abandon their homes to go camp in the woods. Like, I know we are important and stuff, but I'm pretty sure that dudes can handle basic shit like keeping the lights on.
Wait... can we talk about how the name is from Lolita (“light of my life, fire of my loins”) which is a NOT OKAY thing for a dad to say about his daughter?
What if The Road but girl?
Going off of this, a great dystopian novel about what a world would look like with all women, Ammonite by Nicola Griffith.
My guess is, this movie will only be about 15 mins. long,as the men will simply die off due to sitting around and watching porn all day.

“Also, Elizabeth Moss sure like those female-centric dystopias doesn’t she?”
I know when I need to feel safe and protected in a lawless, violent, predatory world, a thin nylon tent in the woods is my first choice. Why look for a deserted cinder block building with limited entry points? Being completely vulnerable to anyone with a dull knife is probably just as good.
[obligatory disingenuous gif]
On the one hand, it seems reductive to say this looks a whole lot like ‘The Road’ just because they’re both post-cataclysm films where a parent and child wander a dangerous wasteland. On the other hand, this just looks a whole fucking lot like ‘The Road’.
[obvious diminishing return]
How about The Road but it’s only for the fellas.
