I came here to make this EXACT comment!

To me, "timely" is, say, within a day. If you read some of my other responses, you'll see that I also assume a person is busy if they don't respond immediately. I just don't think questions should be ignored entirely, since they are generally asked for a reason.

She's done it...sort of:

THANK YOU for this comment. Your first paragraph, especially, is what I was thinking of while reading this.

This.

I think that's fair.

Thanks—so do I! It seems like common courtesy, really.

I generally assume the same, and whether or not a long silence annoys me depends on the person and his or her usual texting habits (my boyfriend, for instance, will take a pretty long time to get back to me sometimes, but he's a chemist who oversees a university lab and does time-sensitive side-projects in his own lab

I agree with you on that—there's a reasonable limit.

I agree, an article from woman who's been in the field and writing about her observations would be both more interesting and more valuable.

I really only have three phone/text-related complaints:

Hey, E!, thanks for reminding us multiple times in one short blurb that Melissa McCarthy is plus size. Like we don't have eyes. Why does everything have to be about her body? Can't she just be an actress?

Bingo. He probably kisses the asses of the celebs, to some degree, as well.

That's kinda what I'm thinking, too.

To #3: Nope. It would feel like a public spectacle, an empty gesture to put me on the spot and guilt me into taking him back so he could go back to acting like a shithead.

Well, Phil Collins is also talented.

...and he's probably hoping some of those women will fuck him.

I get that impression, too. And that maybe he wants her back because it would look good for him, not because he loves and misses her and actually takes responsibility for fucking up.

You should read the rest of the comments. I'm not the only one saying this.

Right! Just because they don't speak yet doesn't mean they don't understand language.
