Saturday morning cartoons and Star Wars accomplished the near-complete merger between entertainment and advertising decades ago.   The GEICO synergy was singular only in that is was so badly done.  Not quite Star Wars Christmas, but then again GEICO had only a fraction of the public good will to squander.

There were a lot of purposeful continuity "problems" on this show.  People's outfits would change between what were ostensibly just momentary camera shifts, and I think that Liz's present for Virginia changed from a book(?) to a giraffe in the half second it took her to give it to D'Fwan.  I should have been paying

Psycho Killer.  It's the most twitchy, neurotic song I know, and when I'm pissed off it usually does the trick of feeding my anger and calming me at the same time.  My favorite line is "I hate people when they're not polite," because, hey— that's me!

Well thank god for this thread, because I thought that I was the only one who absolutely loathes him.

I thought that the first X-Men was OK but instantly forgettable, as well.

It is a darker strip now, but no less funny than it used to be.

Yeah, you really got me there.  Did the Sarah Lawrence crack hit a little too close to home?

Oh yeah, the MPAA is right up there with the Illuminati and Stonecutters.  Far more powerful than a blustery billionaire mogul who knows people.  Jabba the Harv is not to be messed with, and it is amusingly ironic that he has managed to cast himself as the little guy in this little melodrama.

How far is 4500km in a real measure of distance?

Harvey Weinstein proves once again that bullying works.  Good job, Harv.

I never saw The Wire, and after this there is no way I am ever going to watch it, because I am not going to be accused of being one of those Johnny-come-latelies and disappoint David Simon like the rest of you.

So we would all prefer deep existential insights from a Sarah Lawrence English BA?

What he did was not an accident.  It was the wrong address, but he meant to do it.

I just saw the original cut of Moby Dick, which ends with Gregory Peck and Queequeg riding off on the white whale's back, looking forward to their further adventures.  I thought that it was much better than the original ending.
