Exactly. Same here. People are giving me shit for putting any blame on her friends, but they do not seem like they cared at all about her. I had this exact situation happen in college and several of us would go after the drunk person who left without a coat. Always.

Do you live in an area that has extremely cold winters? I realize the blame may seem odd to you, but you have to treat the cold similar as you would your friend driving drunk. If you wouldn’t let your friend drive, then you should absolutely not let them outside without a coat, gloves, and a hat on. It’s just a rule

1) That’s not how the Constitution works;

So happy she won this show is nutz! But, I'm pretty sure galavant is a musical comedy on network television as we'll...let me know if I'm wrong about that....

1. Avery frequently requested Teresa Halbach specifically when he called the photography agency.

1. Dassey had a 70 IQ, right? I don’t think Dassey raped or stabbed anyone. Are we talking about Dassey or Avery?

I’m not sure that Steven is necessarily innocent, but I am sure that Brendan is. And I will never understand how they convicted Steven because that case was screaming with reasonable doubt. The fucking prosecutor even mentioned in his closing something about “so what if someone planted the key?” Jesus fucking Christ.

The wait is almost done.
I sure loved season one.
I hope two’s just as fun
On Gaaaalavant!

Right. It’s one of the reasons I’m now working a boring desk job instead of gathering news. As a society, we should have a deeper understanding of what’s not working...as an individual, I don’t need to wade around ghoulish peoples’ minds. It’s a tension.

Ray Bradbury has long said that his education came from libraries. It’s fitting then, that the Carnegie Library in Waukegan Illinois might become home to a museum devoted to the famous author.

Not to mention that the officer who was killed was himself a devout Christian who was not in favor of abortion, but he did his job and gave his life trying to protect the people in that clinic, because that’s part of being a fucking professional.

The Reuben one reminded me of a story Terry Pratchett told. He said that one jet-lagged evening he accidently asked for Three Mile Island dressing for his salad. The waitress didn’t say a word, just brought him Thousand Island dressing and a bottle of hot sauce.

As a Jew, I’m torn. On one hand, I had no family members die in the Holocaust (I’m a convert), so I really should just keep my effing mouth shut. On the other, I’ve shared many conversations with relatives of survivors and victims both, and with my own rabbi. Many of them have expressed that they have no interest or

This woman bothers me so much. I studied the Victorian era extensively in school and she’s “living” in one very tiny aspect of it. Of COURSE she would choose to be a wealthy woman instead of dealing with the horrific poverty of the time. It’s myopic yet completely unsurprising.

Look, I was sitting here reading this article and saying to myself, “Look, the reality on the ground is far more complicated, and Children of Men wasn’t critiquing State tactics, it was commenting on the desperate places our society goes to in catastrophe, and goes pretty far to rationalize both the anti-Statist

Also Suite Francaise. Not technically a romance novel, but definitely a brilliant novel. Its original draft was literally drug across the landscape of WWII after the author died at Auschwitz before finishing it.

Today is my 10th wedding anniversary, so I am in a reminiscing-about-my-wedding mood. :) I distinctly remember that angst you discuss at the end - the “Are we this kind of couple, or are we that kind of couple” dilemma that seemed to impose itself at the crossroads of every decision. It all felt so...if not quite

Her era simply didn’t offer that many ways of framing her experience

But she never said it didn’t happen. She never disputed any aspect of the account except to say that she didn’t witness it. We can’t know if that’s true or not (and as many, including Fuchs, have pointed out — Jett could have witnessed it and not remembered it for any number of reasons).
