The customers want to be treated like cattle, paying as little for a flight as possible. Want to not be treated like cattle? Pay a little more for some of the upgrades they offer.

Reclining helps me feel less air sick. You can deal with the MILD inconvenience.
It’s not a logical conclusion, it’s a statistical one.
If the root cause of a failure is responsible for 94% of the failures, it’s pretty likely removing that root cause will improve things. Guaranteed? No. But pretty likely.
Half and Half. Feeling quite pessimistic lately, been reading about some changes to climate change models that show a much bleaker picture when they add clouds to the models. Current models show +3c by 2100, but these new models are +4.5c by 2100. So, if those new models are correct, we are already well past the…
I think your point was that the blame lies with previous generations to us (I’m assuming you are a millennial like me). My point is that the blame lies with everyone. If you are alive you are contributing to global warming.
Yea, automatics beat manuals in most, if not all, technical ways. However, that isn’t really the point, at least not for me. It’s about hitting shifts perfectly, blipping the throttle for downshifts with perfect timing so it’s butter smooth, managing gear lash with super fine throttle control, that kind of stuff.
Mmmm, no. What got us into this mess is the energy requirement of the average human increasing over the past 300 years, while also increasing the population at a roughly exponential rate (for a time anyway, seems to be leveling off..)
Look, the environment is already fucked beyond repair, let’s just party until it’s time to go home.
Fair enough, BH was a bad example.
You missed the point. The point is stock price can have very little to do with the actual production ability of a company. The author equated the high value of Tesla to mean they are doing well as a car company. While they are starting to do well, the stock price has nothing to do with that.
Panasonic makes the batteries, not Tesla.
it probably has just as much to do with Tesla’s successes as it does every other automaker’s failures to catch up.
Sorry for your luck... I’ll be waiting for you at Cinnabon.
Harley Engineering recruitment tried pretty hard to get me to come to Milwaukee to help (I’m assume) engineer the LiveWire. It was tempting, but as time goes on, I’m glad I never took the leap.
Yep, that’s exactly was the one I was thinking about!
I feel like surveillance is one area that sci-fi films get pretty close to the truth. How many movies have you seen an individual walk past a store display only to have an automated voice say something like, “Hello Mr. Smith, did you enjoy those pants you purchased last week? Please be sure to check out our new Fall…
Meh, forced induction can handle that. Also, unimogs have a very low crawl ratio, so as long as you don’t need to climb fast, even a huge drop in power is NBD.
Sounds fake... BUT, if I owned a company and had an employee who was handling my finances (say an accountant who had direct access to funds), I can understand wanting to know about an employees financial situation. However, I would never do it over email. Take the person to lunch and ask on the down low.
