Burneko’s butthurtitude about this is the best thing on the Internet today. The guy who thinks Blood Meridian sucks is the worst.

I judge you.
It’s nothing crazy special, but it’s well-balanced, feels great in your hand and the ink disburses evenly and solidly every time I write with it. It’s an understated cool & modern design, but not ostentatious or crazy looking.

Antifone Work Lamp from Ikea. As an Interior designer, I had one for years to draw and read. Aesthetic and cheap.

My sister's OBGYN told her very early on in pregnancy that she was welcome to set up her shots so certain ones are not all at once, but if she had any interest in not having her baby vaccinated at all, she would have to seek another doctor because he could not in good conscience be part of that. She didn't need him to…
To steal a quote from Jezebel I saw last night, if I can't send my kid anywhere with a PB&J sandwich for public health reasons, I shouldn't be allowed to send them anywhere without an MMRV.

I'm a Sr. Estimator with a top 50 national contractor and I have that exact calculator sitting prominently on my desk. Granted, I typically use a host of estimating software for my work but inevitably I'll need a quick calculation to figure the volume of concrete in a slab or something and nothing is simpler and…
I don't eat a lot of meat but I cut wood. And the term butchers use is not "against the grain" but "across the grain", same as for wood.
Pretty much. The NSA and others got grilled about why they did not put together the pieces ahead of 9/11. We demanded they do a better job, and now they are. We don't like how they're doing it, but what's the alternative? Not gather any intelligence? Only target specific groups, races and/or ideologies? Gathering all…
Thanks very much. :) I think that goes for most of us actually, especially around LH HQ. When we were talking about it, none of us were really surprised about it (me less than most, but hey, my mother babysat NSA spook kids whenever she wanted some extra cash. I drove past the Agency on my way to work for years.) but…
I thought it was a good article. While I'm surprised and kind of disgusted that this has been going on, on a personal level, I'm not bothered. I think what the NSA has been doing is terrible, but I also don't have anything to hide and feel no need to "beef up" my security.
