My brother gave this to me for Christmas last year. Comparing the poems to my cats, it's quite accurate.

I am so, so, so jealous that you have a kitty who will wear hats. Tiny hats for cats! I've tried to put festive hats on one of my cats (the other one is smarter and knows when to go into hiding), with this as the result. Two seconds later, the hat is off, and he's trying to bunny-kick it to death. Like if he kills it

Story time: Right out of high school, I was working at the Fancy Mall in town, and a Tiffany store opened around that time in the mall. One day, before my shift, I went to check it out because sure-why-not. The store wasn't very busy, but no one would even say hello to me, I got the side-eye from security, and I left

"Good luck with that, pal."

Sigh.. you're right. I keep telling myself at least they're here only a few days.

PREACH! Burners are like a plague of locusts. Hopefully they won't linger in town this year because of the horrible, horrible smoke and I can enjoy my french toast at Peg's in peace.

This is part of my antique photograph collection currently on display (Not in the prettiest arrangement, I know. I'm in the process of building a better, cat-proof display shelf). Daguerreotypes are my favorite, but in general I collect all early types.

I had a similar experience in Gujarat, though at that point in my trip, I had met up with my friend and her family in Bamangam for her brother's wedding, so I spent most of my time with them. By which I mean hanging out with everyone's English-speaking kids, so I was pretty much the de-facto babysitter for a week. It

I'm having way too much fun with screenshots from this debate.

Who doesn't need more ships?

No, trying to pet wild/feral horses is a very bad idea. It's too dangerous. Besides, they don't have shiny, pretty coats that would be nice to pet. Their coats are dirty and scraggly looking.

Seriously. They did not give one single fuck about people or cars.

Today I came home from lunch to find a herd of mustangs on my street, munching on everyone's lawns. It's been very dry this summer, so they're coming into residential areas for easy noms.

I love Chanel handbags so, so much. I have an ultimate soft, carry it all the time and it's held up amazingly well for lambskin for the past 4 years. Because it's lambskin, I'm much more careful with it than other bags, but I certainly don't baby it (I just fold up the dustbag it came in and keep it in the interior

I collect daguerreotypes, so this makes me all tingly inside. If a photo of it looks this good, I can only imagine how beautiful it is in person. Photos and scans of daguerreotypes can't compare to the originals.

Yessss!

Pretty sure I know the forums you're talking about. I was a moderately active member for years, and I really miss the community c 2004-2006.

I didn't hear it at all! And I'm generally a very, very light sleeper. I had no idea it even occurred until Monday, when someone asked me if I heard the meteor. "What meteor??"

I dunno.. That sounds about how things turned out at least half the time with my Barbies.

I second all the comments about Jesuit universities. I went to a Jesuit university, and honestly, the only way I could tell it was religiously affiliated was that there was a lovely mission smack in the middle of campus.
