“In fairness, I think it’s very important that we distinguish between the rapists, the assaulters, the clueless fumblers, the tactless remarkers and all the other bastion of men suddenly cast into the same basket. I mean, I don’t think you should be put onto Murderer’s Row for having put your hand on somebody’s knee

But you now know the band’s name: Pinegrove.

Can somebody direct me to a Pinegrove song I would recognize?

Yeah I’m not convinced it’s Taylor Swift herself behind all these marketing strategies. At her level of career success, there are responsibilities one needs to trust someone else to handle, and I would think that “album sales marketing” would be delegated to some executive at Sony, no? As I would imagine it is handled

But a critical and nuanced examination of the facts is frowned upon right now. The populace is swept away by uncompromising radicalization.

I’m getting the same “Expiring Soon” indicator for Ordinary People (1980) on my Hulu Watchlist.

Conway is shamelessly trotted out to scramble facts around the most vile of Republican strategies. Her mere appearance before a mike is a signal that the bullshit’s about to be dialed up to 11.

A thoughtful examination of complex and contradictory details is not advantageous to radicalization.

Thinking for oneself is not advantageous to radicalization.

Oh I get it now: Bobby was appearing on Megyn’s show as White Santa.

I got the feeling she was attempting to “massage” Bobby into buying her brand reboot. Didn’t work. Unforch he’s had a deeply unsatisfying experience with her previous incarnation, and refuses to be fooled by the shiny new packaging.

You sound like if I’m not furiously erecting a gallows in the town square, I’m an enabler. When I hear about people engaging in that kind of impotent, perverse, obsessive, predatory behavior, my mind immediately suspects some kind of psychopathy. I’m just a commenter speculating about what could possibly be behind

I’ve worked in the arts my entire adult career, and tend to surround myself with other artists and intellectuals. I’ve definitely discussed my sex life with friends both male and female, but I, and friends with whom I talk intimately, tend to stop short of sharing actual, specific sexual details. I’ve never heard

I don’t understand how your comment is a response to mine. Or were you responding to someone else’s comment? Can you explain further?

Oh thanks for mentioning the Slate article - sounds really interesting. I hadn’t realized the correlation you describe to rape, but it makes sense. I’ll definitely check it out. When you mentioned shame, it brought to mind Louis CK’s act. He always seems say things in his standup, and put himself into situations on

So maybe he got some help, maybe he tried to mine his comedy as a method of reconciliation.

Guys don’t brag in the locker room about cornering women and masturbating! People with those kinds of obsessive sexual perversions do their best to hide it; they’re ashamed. The victims are often the only ones who know, and if they don’t say anything, no one finds out about it.

I think he has some kind of compulsive perversion, which ultimately subjected innocent people to fear and harassment. He tried to hide it for as long as possible, until victims started to say enough is enough. And now he’s been exposed and he’s apologizing. He needs psychotherapy at the very least.

I live in Ed Buck’s neighborhood (a few blocks away) and would see him at Neighborhood Watch meetings, street festivals and other local events. I can tell you he is/was? a very strange man. Judging from this report I suppose it had a lot to do with the crystal + money equation. He was also startlingly good-looking,
