Countries with stricter gun laws still have violence against women, you do realize that, right? Even if the US outright banned all guns, abusive men there would just find something else.

To me, it’s the same as people posting “mexico” or “blue” on FB as a mystery cancer awareness insiders thingie. #WearOrange is so random. It could be a campaign for the new season of OITNB. In my country, people wear orange to support the national soccer team. It’s all: I’m doing something good, without actually…
These celebrities have no interest in actually making a difference. They’re just paying lip service to their fans, who are overwhelmingly left leaning.
that really is the point isn’t it? Shares, hashtags and retweets generally remain meaningless, aside from from “raising awareness”. Go out and do. Make a phone call. Pull out your credit card. Volunteer.
Most of the people (non-celebs) that I know of that did the challenge didn’t donate. I think their mindset was that someone they tagged would donate, and so on and so forth. People love to pass the buck these days!
Nobody who wants to be able to stock up at Walmart is suddenly going to reconsider because Kim Kardashian wore an orange sweatshirt with no pants.
This is eerily similar to how people think O.J. Simpson killed Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman: He attacked her, and then killed her friend who probably tried to help her.
Right? I came here to say this. Suddenly, the cops remember they have non-gun options, even when dealing with a coked-out guy with a fucking rifle. Seriously, tell me again how big Michael Brown was and how impossible it was to subdue him without multiple gunshots.
An armed white guy.
Funny how when a white guy tries to escape police custody he’s subdued with pepper spray and a taser instead of being shot and killed.
I’m guessing they’ve gotten in trouble for using the term tribal.
I’ve known it to happen. You also have to keep in mind, it wasn’t just Vanessa. It was his kids too. It may have been the stability and routine of the whole family thing that kept him together.
At one point I thought he had stopped aging, but time seems to have caught up with him all at once.
“A little lost boy”?!?
Yup, it took less than a year to be happy for her decision to live her true self. Sadly, her true self is an ignorant, self serving moron.
That’s what pushes her from “crazy person” to “predator” for me. Many predators groom the family as well. Bringing gifts, flattery, showing how much “better” the child is since they’ve been around. How happy and excited he is to be a man/father (possibly highly-prized attributes in the family), how lucky he is she’s a…
I think, and I’m just spitballing here, that sometimes parents don’t want to believe that their child can be a victim of sexual abuse, so they convince themselves that he is not. On paper, of course, a 24 year old with a 13 year old is abuse, but MY 13 year old is in love and it’s different.
Except people who think that way are thinking about it with their adult brain, completely forgetting what it’s like to be a child with a child’s brain and on a child’s developmental path.
Hannibal Lecter’s neighbors and friends would have considered him a very cultured, well spoken individual.
“It’s very rare that someone is involved in a homicide case with someone they just had a baby with. It’s very early to make a conclusion as to what the cause, intent, motive and facts were to this unfortunate tragedy.”
