I wish employers would just pay their employees a living wage so I wouldn’t have to tip. I also wish famous people didn’t feed this trend in society towards competitive over-tipping.

They have probably been using advertising like this in Asia and the Middle East for decades. All the companies do and have always done because it is very effective. Their mistake (from a business perspective) was to allow it to become viral in the West.

If you’re uncomfortable/disturbed, that’s all that matters (and you have every right to be, imo).

And it’s also a lot harder for women of limited means in rural areas here too or just outright impossible in northern communities (where the teen pregnancy rate is through the roof).

In Canada (where I am), I think it depends on the clinic policy and the individual needing the abortion but I would be surprised if a clinic didn’t make women come in before their appointments for a dating ultrasound and some “counselling.”
