On too much chocolate: Unless you’re making a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, it’s definitely a potential problem.

A good BFC is an excellent dessert option (there’s a reason it’s available even in US supermarket bakeries), for sure, but even the worst of this week’s technical looked appetizing and that’s a rarity.

But why “go naked?” I’ve had a screen protector on my Switch forever and I can discern no disadvantage. I feel comfortable wiping it with whatever’s handy and if it did get scratched then replacing it would be a trivial exercise. The only reason not to use a screen protector is laziness.

Cool. I'm sure someone will enjoy it, like some people enjoyed this piece of crap. Me, I don't go back for second helpings of a bad meal.

True. I think we’re all in agreement: Jürgen must be sent to the camps.

You’re remembering incorrectly, except that you correctly perceive the attack as being rushed. It was. The book spends almost no time on Caladan and the Atreides have time to get at least more comfortable living on Arrakis.

Seconded, heartily. Every character besides Paul was stripped of every trait apart from their love of Paul. They couldn’t even bother to show Leto and Jessica as being in love. The Harkonnens are just a bunch of dudes who don’t like the Atreides.

He also removed any intelligence from the Harkonnens. The Baron didn’t do what he did only out of hatred for the Atreides, nor did he do it out of love for the Emperor. He was pursuing his own agenda to put a Harkonnen on the throne. This was completely excised for the movie, presumably to show more silently floating

I apologize. I am sometimes confused when I see a post on a discussion board. I will remember for next time.

Yeah, that’s a lot of hardcore nerd shit...that is mentioned without any real explanation. If you asked someone who watched the movie without any previous Dune exposure, they wouldn’t be able to tell you anything about the Landsraad except that they heard the word said in the movie, and even that wouldn’t be a lock.

Hell yes, I wanted badly to eat that. Jürgen lost some points with me when he implied he wouldn’t order a slice of that if he was out at a cafe and would instead opt for Black Forest cake. That’s bad decision-making.

What complexity? They smoothed over virtually every textural element of the novel. They did so in order to focus more on Paul alone. Perversely, however, this oversimplifies Paul himself. Here’s an incomplete list of elements lost, often unnecessarily:

In other words tantrums already occur and employees have to deal with them. Are you absolutely sure you have anything approaching a cogent argument?

Except lots of cars can, and have been able to do so for over a half-century. My ‘75 4-door Impala could do 120 mph when let loose and could cruise quite comfortably at 80-85 mph...if I was willing to waste the gas money. It wasn’t intended to be a performance car but had a nice V8.

Oh, come on. I’ve seen many videos taken by Tesla drivers and every single one of them commented on the distinct feeling of acceleration even when just quickly going from 30-60 mph. There is no such thing as accidentally going 116 mph unless perhaps you were already doing 100 mph for a while.

The big difference is that Eddie Murphy is able to recognize and apologize for the shitty attitudes and comedy of his youth. He still did some terrible, offensive comedy (particularly at the expense of fat people) but he’s still changed a ton since the 80s.

Yawn, fart. Take your off-topic rant someplace it isn't completely off-topic, perhaps a place where sports determine how we should treat other human beings in society...and be careful because all professional sports are dominated by morons and bigots.

I understood. I wasn't arguing, just expanding...and I probably should have replied to a different post. :)

Dave Chappelle could never be truly deplatformed and he knows it. What's not said by all the anti-PC celebrities is that they believe they're entitled to platforms guaranteed to make them filthy rich[er].

Forgive my ignorance, but isn’t this type of “kernal level” driver the sort of thing that provides a potential vector for bad actors to deploy truly malevolent malware? In order to be effective it will need to have access to the internet for which it will require frequent security testing and updates.
