That’s more like the definition of conventional shares investment. The word “investment” could mean more than that. For example, emotionally invested in something. People do not always get a stake in what they are invested in, otherwise, parts of your body would belong to your secret admirers now.

Even though the end result was negative, I still find it to be completely worth it because why not risk chances in life

Probably has a lot to do with it being a Sony product (Japanese love Sony products) and some...ahem, mature VR content.

It is Western arrogance however, to claim that there is no point in learning the Chinese language and to make the assumption that China is bound to fail.

Did you just ask me to check your other posts to determine if you have exhibited “Western arrogance” when my original comment which mentioned that was directed at a user named “Beasy12” and not you...? I must have either replied to you in my sleep or missed the fact that “Beasy12" is your alternate account.

Which I did not. I mentioned that such views are detrimental to whichever party we are talking about. Never have I made any generalisation.

I hope they don’t shut it down after 1 or 2 failed projects.

So...what makes them so confident that they would be able to find the “next Rocket League” since they cannot predict anything at all? Is the EA Originals going to start investing in lots of risky projects?

Someone should make a mod to bring it back.

Yes, and leading up to that is a whole series of misunderstanding and failure to adapt to the Chinese way of doing business. Why would they need Lee Kai Fu otherwise?

It already has issues, but that does not take away from the fact that it has already pulled ahead of the African countries.

You should read my comment, and the comment which I replied to. Not once have I mentioned that the US is doomed. You really are missing the point of discussion here.

I understand. I don’t think that anyone is disputing that US is number one, or that the English language is unimportant. I am refuting the user’s claim that there is “NO POINT in learning Chinese”.

Africa is suffering from much larger systemic political issues, the continent is much further from being a top economy than China is. Also, Africa is not a country. We should not compare apples to oranges.

And recovery is not impossible. Countries and economies can change, and the language of a country as large as China would still be important in the future. I am not agreeing with Jackie Chan’s propaganda speeches, I am just refuting the claim that Chinese is not important. Let’s not deviate from that.

Sir, I believe that nobody is claiming the English language to be unimportant.

That is true to a certain extent, however, the domestic market of China is still rather attractive. Even if the economy were to slowdown, it still does not mean that there are no profits to be made.

When I mentioned “problems”, I was referring to the general categories of issues that China would face as the country becomes more developed over time. Inequality, greater desire for freedom, economic issues, corruption, human rights etc. The growing resentment amongst the upper-middle class is an issue that the
