I just priced a 2020 Explorer Platinum and I think 60k is with all options included. Still way more than Telluride/Pallisade obviously.

“New” Toyota 4Runner? There’s nothing new about them.
Is the Santa Fe missing that much vs the Pallisade ?
Telluride is domestic built. Problem solved :)
To be fair you should be comparing the 2020 Telluride to the 2020 Explorer not the 2019. 2020 Explorer is not just a simple refresh.
Space wise it’s compares to Tahoe or Traverse but capability wise Tahoe has both beat in terms of towing.
Telluride second row is more cramped than a GC? That’s very objectively wrong.
I’m waiting to see new Explorer at the dealer before but I’m having a really hard time justifying Ford’s sticker shock over the Telly. I do need to be able to tow about 5k safely so that’s one check in Explorer’s box but other than that I don’t know. I mean is RWD platform worth such a higher premium?
“those ST and Platinum trims do offer more stuff than the top level Telluride/Palisade/Pilot/Highlander/Atlas,” do they though? I’m really trying hard to find $13,000 worth more stuff on a Platinum Explorer vs fully loaded Telly. Longer wheelbase and more power maybe? I dunno I just can’t see it.
Work in the operating room, only time a scalpel is really used is for the initial incision, so maybe a few seconds.
So, not to be pedantic but crude oil doesn’t actually come from dinosaurs but rather algae and plants.
That’s not how that phrase works
Well it’s not like the 4Runner is that much cheaper than much better equipped competitors. Actually I don’t particularly think the 4runner needs a ton more power. I have a 16 Limited too and it’s there if you dig into it. I think the problem is power delivery. It’s very non-linear. Sometimes when I’m towing I’ll need…
As someone who currently owns one, take an internet stranger’s advice and don’t buy one.
I have a newer 4Runner and although I’ve always loved them, i’m already looking forward to replacing it. Great reliable truck but they just seem so ancient compared to the competition these days.
So much this. I’ve always liked 4Runners because I convinced myself you never know when you need to survive an apocalypse. Now that I have a 4Runner and 2 kids, I’m finding I’d rather have a more comfortable highway cruise and not having my kids flail around in the back seat when I take a turn. My expectations vs…
EV’s a much simpler than combustion cars. You won’t need a mechanic to work on most issues since it lacks the complicated parts that break down on combustion cars (engine parts, transmission problem, exhaust, fluid changes, fuel system, etc) What exactly would you need a regular mechanic to do on a EV car?
The funny thing is some Subaru loyalists accept the oil consumption issue is normal and just shrug it off.
Valid point but I was just pointing out that 5000lbs is pretty much standard across most mid/full size SUVs in this segment. Even then Durango and Cherokee has been rated at 7000 for quite some time. Highlighting 5600lb towing seems odd. I feel like that should be minimum for the segment.
