@Sir-Lucius has no pictchar!: your comments bring up an interesting point. if games are to be considered art, where in the process of production and consumption does the art lay. Is a game art if no one ever plays it? or does the art lay simply in the programming of the software?

@dd528: i think we're already at that point. games are art, a popular art but an art nonetheless. one could argue that most video games are not artistic in the abstract sense but that has more to do with the medium than the art form itself. it's also mass media which trends toward the lowest common denominator or
