There’s a difference between a turncoat and failing to drum up support. I can try and get something past and fail and that’s fine. that’s how politics works but if I’m actively doing the opposite then that would be grounds for a recall.

you could actually. require candidates to sign a legal document indicating what campaign promises they intend to use while campaigning. make them required to add any new ones to the document with an addendum. If they actively work against those promises constituents would then have the right to petition for a recall…
