Then don’t

You can drive your dumb ideas all around galt’s gulch.

Since this was a “feature” that people paid thousands of dollars for, it’s unlikely to blow over in a couple days.  Tesla could be looking at a couple billion in refunds.

Your point being?

Tell your buddies a Ticket is needed to correct attitude

It’s the mindset of-we just keep doing this thing until we get caught. Then we pay a fine/slap on the wrist.

“How could deregulation!?”

This is what happens when you let an industry dictate to the government. Railroads have run amok for decades, prioritizing profit over growth and maintenance.

Oh and another thing: freight and passenger lines should not run on the same tracks.

Narcissists (Musk) are incapable of admitting they were wrong. However, he’ll create some scapegoat and say American tariffs or taxes or some bullshit makes it not feasible. “I would totally give you this cool truck, but those damn woke libs won’t let me give it to you.”

Did you read the whole article ? Tesla has fallen further than second place in autonomous driving

And just like that, I’m in a rabbit hole. Most of the sites have the same GVWRs for classes 1-8. The HUMMER EV has a GVWR of 10,550, which puts it in class 3 (10,001-14,000), with the F350 and 3500s... and it looks like that makes it medium duty, or some combination of the words light and heavy and duty for EPA

No it sure doesn’t, and a lot of people don’t know that.

Because the stainless steel was only a finishing skin over composite with the DeLorean and Middle School Musk intends on building his stupertruck out of the stuff, including really thick body panels (I forget the measurement—3mm, maybe?—it was something absurd that made me laugh when I first read it).

Teslas are sold globally (minimal localizations) which means it needs to meet much stricter Euro NCAP with Pedestrian Safety.

Cybertruck will NEVER be able to meet those regulatory requirements

The wipers + windshield dimensions + profile are much, much, much bigger (unsolved) design problem than people realize.

It’s almost like Elon Musk is a dumbass with the intellectual depth of a 9 year old and only knows about stainless steel because it’s what the DeLorean from Back To the Future was made out of and it would be le epic bacon if his meme truck was made out of the same thing.

The lack of infrastructure plus the effect of cold weather on EVs are major detractors. Motor Trend just posted something about their experiences which confirms a lot of what my friends with EV have said:

Maybe elon will buy it and create a mega cyber gigga ram data cloud vaporware plant

I have this with Volvo; the local dealer has treated me well, transactions have been no BS, so I go back.
