I live on a major artery between Hwy 101 and Hwy 1... weekends are sometimes a literal parade of exotic car clubs taking their toys to the coast. Many stop in town here for supplies/last fuel. I hesitate to take pictures, as I’m usually driving when I see them. The most exotic I’ve seen yet has been an original 356

My ‘68 Scout 800 had a PTO powered winch, which the original owner took it upon himself to sell separately.

Charlie Parr and Spider John Koerner in an alternate universe where they came up together.

My 68 IHC Scout 800.

I had the newer fwd 1983 Corolla-Tercel SR5. My first car, bought used in 1991 for $100 with a bad clutch. It was also the first time my Dad got me really involved in a major car repair.

Yup.  Tim Allen AKA Ex-Buzz Lightyear.  Glad Chris Evans has taken the mantle for future Toy Story works.

MIL wanted a home in the woods closer to the coast. We were fortunate enough to be able to buy her prior home for what was a song in 2018... since city dwellers decided semi-rural is the new hotness, our property’s value has almost doubled in 3 years. We found out when our insurance co. said they don’t insure

Wife’s company went RTO for everyone, including people who were WFH for years pre-COVID. They hemorrhaged workers after bonuses dropped this year, major listed reason upon exit interview was RTO.

Damn kids today don’t even know how to tie down their own punkins.

a 9200 lb. oddity.  I pity any trail the hUmMeR comes across.

IMHO, if VW wants to get into the U.S. truck/off road market, they should reinstate the Scout brand.

Hate to break it to ya about ol’ Henry...

Glad my make/model was never mentioned...

Ugh... I don’t remember my dad working on drums very often, but when he did it was an absolute nightmare most of the time. I have traumatic flashbacks remembering him having to deal with carburetors where the temp swung from -45 to 90's through the year on farm vehicles & daily drivers.

I converted my Scout to Discs & F.I., After being on the road a year I can’t say I’m sorry for either, aside from chasing down brake part issues early in my build it’s been 100% hassle-free.

Among the 4 necessities on my Scout... I changed the wipers to electric, replaced every wire with a good harness, got rid of my drum brakes & changed to a Hamilton F.I.

Carburetors and drum brakes.

That would require work.  Remember, these are autobloggers who hire mobile mechanics.

A guy in Northern MN put an Arctic Cat (Suzuki) 1000cc 3 cylinder 2 stroke from a Thundercat in a Geo Metro. IIRC the transmission lasted less than a day.
