Curious. Did you actually step out of frame and take a photo, or just have a video rolling and cut out the frames from the video?

I’d personally probably shoot a video to avoid having to hit the shutter for each and every frame - but maybe it’s less work post-processing than cutting frames out of the video.

100% reliability of any part in a car is an unreasonable ask. Eventually, somethin’ gon’ break.

Even my trusty 96' Miata had it’s dashboard / speedo stop working...which is basically the Miata’s equivalent of the Tesla’s screen in terms of info...

A use-case where you try a dress on before you order online is irresponsible IMO. We should be encouraging reusability and no waste prints - not one-use throwaway prints. We have enough plastic ending up in landfills - no reason to expand upon that :P

It’d be great if they donated the “saved cost” to environmental initiatives.

Sure, if you have the cash to fully buy the car, but want to use that cash to generate a higher rate of return than the loan. THAT makes sense.

Answer: STOP FINANCING CARS.

My girlfriend had a 2009 Tiguan that had constant issues.

I agree with you that it’s each of our responsibility to make contributions to our society to make it better.

He’s contributing to the areas of the world where he thinks there’s the best opportunities to improve. The U.S. has its problems for sure, but his impact applied to the U.S. would be inconsequential compared to applying it to other regions.

I think I just take issue with the idea that “it’s this group of people’s responsibility to fix things”.

Perhaps a smaller grill?

Umm, your choices can and do directly impact your income level.

Bill Gates chose to work on and make contributions that impacted billions of people in the world - therefore he’s rewarded as such. Impact lots of people in a positive way and deliver value to those billions of people, you can be rewarded in return.

Google Play has the same 30% in-app purchase fee...

I guess they would argue that the end-consumer gains freedom to choose by being able to install anything?

But that freedom comes with a cost. It’s my understanding that Apple reviews and audits each and every app to ensure it meets a certain quality bar in terms of usability, performance, and security. That quality

I can think of lots of applications if done right.

God forbid anyone have any fun these days without harsh criticism.

Shop fees for redecking the engine, boring the holes etc. Unless you have all the proper equipment to do that correctly (and that equipment is pretty expensive).

I also was not suggesting a car payment. I’ve never had a car payment myself and just don’t agree with paying $300-$500 / month for something that can be had

“no production car today or in the future will be capable of full autonomous driving”

That’s a pretty bold claim. How long into the future are you talking about?

I think the best financial decision would be to sell them all and combine the funds to purchase a reliable daily driver. You could probably get around $3-4k by selling all the cars and put that towards a used Toyota or Honda. I would lean towards a used Tundra or Tacoma as they have great reliability + practicality.

$3,000 will get you a great running condition NA Miata with stick shift, RWD, and go-cart agility and fun. CP.
