Seriously. My first reaction on viewing those pictures was begrudging admiration for whomever engineered the the pre-trial makeover. The man on trial looks so little like the guy in the other photo. Very crafty, re-fashioning him as a clean-shaven and ( per the stereotype) angelic blond.

Yep. In my family, everyone joked about not being a kid, or leaving a kid, alone with (great) Uncle Mark. Nobody actually tried to protect us kids from him, though. We were just expected to avoid him, stay in a group at all times, and to shut up about anything that might happen.
