The last half each of The Green Inferno and Sinister 2 and the first half of The Visit?

His first feature length film was also the hilariously great Arch Hall Jr. (Eegah) vehicle The Sadist.

Even if he rarely got to shoot pictures which were any good after the 70's (Maverick being a notable exception), his work in the 70's alone was impressive enough to make for a great career. RIP.

"Why Death Doesn't Deserve Your Hatred"

They are all unconnected sharing only themes.

Yep, they are doing 6 episodes every Saturday which is certainly something.

I'm already dreading the end of New Girl (considering the ratings it got at the end of the year though it could be saved again by lack of other options for Fox), but I really hope being surrounded again by such ratings doesn't destroy Brooklyn Nine Nine. Even with next season virtually guaranteed, I can't see it

Did anyone else watch the run of Soap that IFC started Saturday? I've never watched the show before (though it's been on my neverending list) but I'm on episode 5 of 6 so far and it's been pretty enjoyable.

I've always thought Assault on Precinct 13 was more of a remake of Night of the Living Dead than Rio Bravo considering how similar the settings and plot with the invading criminals being basically zombies for all the personality they have. Still a really good movie if not as good as its influences and the remake was

As an end of the year reward to myself for getting to 1000 movies (final total 1005), I closed out the year by finally knocking off a bunch of classic movies in genres I especially liked (3 westerns, 2 martial arts, and a thriller) that I had put off too long. Don’t know if I’ve had a better 24 hours in pure quality

Happy New Year, but does this not at all arbitrary decision on your part mean that there's no chance to make Tonightriders happen?

The spawn only figures in significantly for Shadow of… (and apparently Song of… played by Dean Stockwell) and doesn't even show up in …Goes Home (nor does Nick's drinking I believe but that's another matter). But yeah Nick and Nora are wonderful.

Going to see The Hateful Eight in 70mm (I go to the theater every NYE) and continuing to pack some last minute movie watching into this year.

I'm looking forward to finally seeing the final one (TCM omitted it from their last Thin Man marathon) and might rewatch the first which as you said is fantastic, and the second which is really good. The other three coast on Loy and Powell's chemistry (especially Thin Man Goes Home) but they can make anything worth

MASH just wasn't the same after Radar left and just took that last step into mediocrity. They just didn't know how to replace him and Klinger was a lousy fit in that role.

I've already got my review of Season 2 ready. Big step down after a great first season.

Don't pretend something being released in the past 3 years would keep it from being remade or rebooted.

Damn you Disqus!

Pearl Harbor is still much more well known. Granted I don't think most Americans can name anything that happened between those two events or even between D-Day and the atomic bombs dropping.
