For once, I don’t hate most of the suggestions (except the lotus: there is no way someone 6’6 can fit in that).

Someone should get Bring-a-Trailer to pay attention to some of those. The 2002, the 924 and the 928 might be useful to someone.

Bad design doesn’t just affect the owner. It affects people around them too.

That’s fair enough. No one is obliged to endorse or even listen to other opinions but we must acknowledge that they exist.

Someone else posted it here: Those who fought and bore important sacrifices fought for the right for everyone to express their opinions, not the right of leaders to stifle free expression, which includes the right to protest.

Well, i guess at least one person in NASCAR is supporting the right to protest.

Good for him i suppose. What about his other businesses? (I honestly dont know if Petty owns anything else other than a racing team) Penske wisely did not say anything one way or another (their statement amount to “no comment and we are not publicly staking a position”) i suspect partly because Penske owns a large

If you’re the official spokesperson for Ford but actually think Toyota is a better company no one can stop you from thinking that, but you can be damn sure that you’ll get fired if you say that at a Ford event.

That is true, except in some circumstances (I believe there is a court case about this). RP can fire whoever for not standing and saluting the flag the way he wants to, but the fired employee can also go to the press to air his grievances, and start a PR shitshow that would land right on Petty’s door.

Education huh. Sure I guess 1 BA, 2 MA and 1PhD are not enough, but i digress. On the other hand, people who are blindly patriotic are often uninformed and gullible to believe that minorities are the sole cause of social problems and the only solution is to excuse prejudice and bigoted action.

No one is getting paid to be “patriotic”. They are paid to play sports. The idea that’s our must stifle expression of dissent and salute the orange one because he stomped his feet like Eric Cartman and screamed “RESPECT MY AUTHORITAH” is expremely problematic.

The problem is that the same companies that advertise on nascar also rely on customers who are not nascar fans.

Yes they do. Their job is to drive a car.m, and no employee is under the obligation to adhere to the political views of his boss.

And people have a right to pressure Petty’s sponsors to cancel their endorsements. When they do pull out I will give you a stopwatch to time the sprint he will inevitably do to protest about “censorship by the liberal elites”.

I just want to make a point here: when Trump complains about “respect for the flag” he is not talking about the flag. He is talking about him.

A protest is by definition disruptive. You don’t get your point across by standing in a “free speech zone” a mile away from he venue waving placards. You do it right there where it is visible. And since when kneeling or refusing to salute to the orange moron a crime?

I am not sorry to insult Richard Petty.

People have a right to protest. That is the bloody essence of America.

I can’t rewrite/edit my previous post so I am making a new one:

I think automatic transmissions are good and people who own and drives them are not automatically car haters.
